I've driven past this intersection of Bell and New Hope many times and I always see this brightly colored restaurant sign and wonder if this is a hidden jewel. Only having one review was a bit concerning, but I felt adventurous today. "La Cocinita Taqueria" Is your traditional Mom & Pop restaurant sharing with another business. In this case a convince store, "New Hope Express". I ordered two Pastor Tacos, cooked to order. The meat flavor was nice and tender. Tortilla seems hand pressed and over all made for an excellent meal. Red and Green salsas enhance your meal. I'm will definitely have to experience a wider range of their food once more. I invite you to do the same. Michael C. - Georgetown

No greeting, cashier looked annoyed to be doing her job, food was tasteless, steak and chicken tasted rubbery, food was ok refridgerator premade.Overall, this does not taste authentic at all. I could find better at taco bell.

the food is okUnfortunately, the woman who attends is very rude and her angry face and the way in which she lives. It is very uncomfortable

Hidden gem! Real Mexican food. Their breakfast tacos are consistently great! I recommend chorizo, potato, egg and cheese. Well-filled yummy tortillas, not too greasy. Nice ladies cooking, reasonable prices.

It's O.K. could use a revamped in menu, descent food, I will be back to try soups on weekend. I had the desembrada beef gordita (they actually put refried beans also which is authentic) and a chicharon taco on corn tortilla. Salsa was descent.

La Cocinita is a hole in the wall located inside a small convenience store on Hwy 183. Then there are only two tables to sit at! But the food is great! Two ladies, working their hearts out, make some very delicious Mexican food. I did not hear them speak one word of English. And while takeout may be your best option, I recommend sitting there, when you are able, and being served on their colorful clay pottery plates and bowls; they seem to bring out the flavors of the food even more. Their hot sauce is very flavorful and cleared my sinuses out. And not all items on their wall menu are available. One of us wanted enchiladas (regular order of four!) but were not available. So we had Menudo (which is some of the best I have tasted around and available only on weekends) a gordita de chorizo, and a taco de puerco con salsa verde. Cliente we saw were all Spanish speaking customers. They knew where to go for some down home cooking.
