Dog friendly covered patio that stays open when other patios don't. Great tex-mex place. Friendly service. Drinks are effective.

This was our second time to Serrano’s, it has been quite a while since we were last here and we liked it again. Sat in the bar area, the salsa was hot whew, and got a house frozen marg and 2 big beers. All up to standards all good. For dinner got a beef enchilada plate and half order beef fajita nachos. The borracho beans were great and the meat in both entrees had great flavor! We had a great meal here about 43 bucks before tip, not bad.

This place used to be 3-star, 4 on a good day. The service has always been less than hospitable. Now, they've raised prices to pay for their recent renovation, and the service is much worse. The small bowl of plain queso pictured costs $14.50, $15.70 after tax. It was ok, but fairly watery. Definitely cut to make it go farther. Even by today's inflated standards, this is a total rip off. There are other local places to get a bigger bowl of better queso for $10.The tortillas included with one of our entrees came out 10 minutes before our food. By the time the food arrived, they were almost cold, and by the time the second tortilla was removed they were totally cold. The waitperson who took our order also delivered our food. But she didn't remember who ordered anything, even though she only had a couple tables. Normally I wouldn't include this in a review, perhaps she is new, or going through who knows what. But she was very standoffish and generally short, looking and walking away immediately even though we were still talking to her a couple times. Even this I wouldn't normally think twice about. But when the manager came by to presumably check up on how things were, he was speed walking, giving us a thumbs up, and didn't say a word. Then when leaving, we thanked a silent host who continued to remain silent and ignore us. The whole service experience was just disappointing. To top things off, when we received our bill, we were charged mandatory gratuity for parties of 6 or more, even though we only had a party of 5 and ordered 5 entrees. For the prices they're charging now, I think we'll drive a little farther for better food, better service, at the same price or even cheaper. El Monumento in Georgetown isn't any more expensive, and is a full notch or two above in all categories. It's sad what is becoming of hospitality and the service industry in this town. There's plenty of other choices, and no reason to subject yourself to this kind of service for the hard earned money they're charging.

There is a good reason this place has been around for 35 years. Our fajitas were excellent, fairly priced, a good sized portion and came out quickly. Overall a great experience here!

Beef fajitas did not disappoint! My husband remembers coming to a Serranos as a kid and we decided to try it out on this trip to Austin and it was excellent.

Serrano’s has been the backdrop to so many wonderful family memories ever since I was a little kid. My parents went on one of their first dates here, my siblings and I grew up here, and now we’re carrying on the Serrano’s tradition and have brought my sister’s first child here twice already (she’s a month old lol). And not to mention they’re so accommodating to our food allergies (celiac for my mom and I, dairy allergies for my cousin and uncle. We never have issues here and the food is always delicious). Serrano’s is an essential part of our lives!!!! Birthday meal? We go to Serrano’s. Celebrating an accomplishment? Obviously that calls for a Serrano’s trip. When I’d come home from college, number one on my to-do list is “family meal at Serrano’s”. Before I leave to go abroad for work, I have to have my “last Serrano’s”. And there’s nothing like catching up and gossiping with old friends over queso and the delicious salsa. I’m honestly 99% sure I’d want Serrano’s to cater my future wedding. I love you Serrano’s. And when I get back to the good ol US of A, my number one request from my family is a Serrano’s stop on the way home from the airport so I can get my veggie enchiladas and queso perfecto fix ASAP.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free. Dairy free. Vegetarian options. Allergy friendly & knowledgeable staff.

final update: i called the store after being IGNORED by the GM after she said she would call me back shortly. but several hours later, nothing. luckily, i talked to Avery and he was VERY helpful, professional and kind!!! thank you Avery for taking responsibility and accountability of your joke of a GM and owner, i’m not your boss but you deserve a raise and/or promotion!!! Avery is the best, thank you!!!UPDATE- i called to discuss my experience with the general manager and fortunately she picked up the phone but to my dismay, she was very causal and unapologetic of the problems i had at her establishment. i was very surprised by this as one would think the GM of a store would step and take accountability but my answer was: "you should've told me, i was there that day."how should a customer know when the GM is in the store and not in the store?? that answer was completely unprofessional and biased. will not be coming back here againour waitress forgot about our drinks until i asked about them, as well as the table next to us. i didn’t ask for their drinks lol but they did hear me ask for mine and had told us their drinks were forgotten too! the ground beef nachos were mediocre , it was strange to me having only tomatoes on top but no lettuce or pico de gallo to go along with the nachos. also, the remodel was very underwhelming on the inside, definitely is cleaner but not the same serranos vibe. sorry for the half eaten plate picture?

We had lunch with friends here. Two of us are Mexican. Enchiladas con salsa verde, Pollo Loco, Fajitas were great. Service was much better than most places these days. Refills on tea, coffee. Sopapillas were a delightful finish to the meals. The restaurant has been updated and is clean. Booth seating is cozy. Some areas have spotlights, not as cozy. Recommend!

I came here recently and it was my first time seeing their new make-over, which was definitely shocking. The new look feels sleek with a slight bit of sterility and is very different than the previous design that was more rustic and colorful.I got the strawberry frozen margarita and it was great! The strawberry sauce or whatever they put in there wasn't too sweet and added a great texture to the drink. The food was good overall but I don't have any specific comments about it.Vegetarian options: Not many vegetarian options but you can make it work.Kid-friendliness: It is a family friendly restaurant.
