Luckily, we missed a turn and drive an extra few blocks which allowed us to see the sign for the Cattle Drive Cafe. With so many pick-up trucks parked out front at lunchtime, we knew it was worth a try. We were not disappointed. From the hostess greeting is with a big smile (and crayons & coloring menu for our toddler), to our server Darlene, and everyone else, we felt welcomed in a friendly atmosphere. Darlene took time to answer all of our menu questions, even checking with the kitchen for a specific inquiry. The burgers were big, juicy, and full of flavor. We were fortunate to have enjoyed an excellent lunch at the Cattle Drive Cafe. When we travel back through Coleman County this will be on our list again! Stop in for some Texas hospitality and a great meal, too!Parking: Diagonal pull-in street parking out front, plenty of parking for the what lunch crowd.Kid-friendliness: Staff was very friendly with our toddler. Decent items on the kids menu, or just share a burger with Mom.
My first job as a 14 year old, way back in 1972 was peel, slice onions and bread onion rings for a local burger joint. The onion rings served me yesterday brought back those memories. They were so good. The CFS, I have to say was the best I've ever had. My bride of 43 years and I selected this place on a whim and drove from Arlington Texas to check this place out. It was well worth the drive and we hope to return again. The server, Alisha was a sweetheart! And as a side note: the ice tea will great, filled with ice!

This is one of my favorite places to eat in town, the food is always amazing and the staff is always friendly!! Get the steak bites with zucchini, you will not be disappointed!!!!

All I can say is yummy. Ask for Gabby to be your waitress. She’s very good.
Buster did a great job. Very busy around 6PM, several large tables, managed it all quickly and carefully. Food arrived proper temp and was best steaks we have had in a very long time. One advice, the steaks have heavy black pepper, too much for my wife but perfect for myself.Dietary restrictions: Black pepper, celiacKid-friendliness: Several children and babies were perfectly behaved and mannered… good job parents!
We stopped in for lunch to try their burger. We were greeted and seated with - Quick friendly service. We ordered a cheese burger and home cut fries. The food came out for the kitchen and the burger was nice and tasty. Not over cooked, not a huge patty but big enough. The fries, egads, came out cold. Nothing worse than cold fries. We mentioned it to the staff and we were promptly told "don't suffer":) and they very quickly brought us out a fresh serving of nice hot fries, with no fuss and many apologies. It much appreciated and because of the service and tasty food, we will be back. Not to mention we want to give the very quaint bar in the back a try. Great small town atmosphere, supper friendly service. Well worth your time.
