We found Scotty’s on our drive home to Central Texas from New Mexico…and we are sure glad we did as this place was a wonderful pit stop on a long drive home. A big factor was seeing the nice outdoor area with tables, shade and a place for our dog. But beyond that, the food and service was quite fantastic and made us happy that we didn’t stop in Lubbock or Abilene as planned. Both the sliders and Scotty’s chili spaghetti were absolutely delicious and great portions. The drink menu looked great as well and my husband enjoyed being able to get an Axis IPA on tap. The owner is very welcoming and the service was good as well. We meet some wonderful friends over dinner in Stephanie and Cindi. This stop was just what we needed and a reminder just how much we love good small town Texas. Looking forward to exploring Coleman more and stopping back by Scotty’s the next time we make our way out west.

This place is so charming inside. The outdoor seating is fun and casual. On our particular visit only brunch was being served. We ordered 2 biscuit and gravy plates, a breakfast sandwich plate and a two eggs with bacon & potatoes. Our waitress was vaping while waiting on us which we found strange. Every visit to our outdoor table , puff, puff, puff. After it drifted across the table she said ‘ohhh oops it’s the only chance I get.” and walked away. Eventually food came out, minus one plate which was the 2 eggs. It turned out they thought we had ordered a steak even though she confirmed the ticked had our correct order. Once we got it sorted out everyone else at the table had finished eating so we just asked her to cancel the order for the last plate since it was taking so long. A few more puffs and we were done?. Food was good the cafe was cute but the service missed the mark and the wait time was long considering there wasn’t much of a crowd and wasn’t peak service time.

It's not often that I get to use the word panache to describe something, but that's what Scotty's Bistro has...Scotty's Bistro has panache. Tucked away in Coleman, TX, this place should be a landmark. I stopped in for lunch while traveling for work. Nothing about this restaurant is ordinary. The decor and cleanliness stand out when you enter. The menu looks amazing. All I got to sample was the club sandwich and fries at the recommendation of the owner, Victor. The ingredients used are not the average establishment fare. The toasted bread (maybe a sourdough) was the perfect texture and taste. The vegetables were fresh and selected for premium quality (or so it seemed). The fries, though not fresh cut are prepared beyond merely frying and salting. They seasoned and cooked well to provide a crisp texture and no oily excess. I'll be returning to Coleman just to see what the rest of Scotty's menu has to offer.
