“We stopped here by happenstance and I am so glad we did! It was a quiet and friendly little location that was very clean and well kept. Nice music playing and fast service. The server was very attentive and kept our drinks full and make sure we had what we needed. The food is so good. I got the fried rice with chicken and veggies and it was very flavorful. My husband got the hunan chicken and it was moderately spicy and he said it was very tasty. Would absolutely get again and go again. If you can’t make it in just order the takeout. You won’t be disappointed. We also got edamame and fried dumplings and they were the best fried dumplings cooked perfectly crispy. The portions are considerable so we have food for at home later as well. Ample parking in this shopping center. “More people really need to frequent this restaraunt. I always have the large noodle dish but I switch udon for ramen noodles. The portions are so large that I order more of their amazing Shoyu broth to go and have it with my leftover noodles the next day! Amazing!“

We got the hot/sour soup base w/ fish, and the green pepper soup base w/ pork intestine. Green pepper had a great deep flavor, but personally I would choose to keep going back to hot/sour because the sour note is refreshing long-term. Both were delicious, and we needed to-go containers for each. Each bowl was $15.If we were closer to Carrollton, we'd definitely come here more often!“

“I was searching for a great Thai place I had eaten at a few months ago. I couldn't remember the name of it, so when the Malacca Cafe came up on Yelp, I stopped by. It was late afternoon between lunch and dinner time so there were not many diners there. The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated. I ordered the Singapore Mee Fun, a noodle dish with chicken and shrimp. There were plenty of big shrimp and the portions were generous. I took half of it home. The two young people who waited on me were very informative and shared their knowledge of Malaysia. It was a pleasant experience and I plan to go back there.“

It usually starts out with her saying "you know what I could go for?" and me saying the random and semi-obscure thing she could go for because I was thinking the same thing.Anywho, the "thing" was soup dumplings (Xiao Long Bao) this time, and our mutual craving led us to finally try Wu Wei Din, which had been on our list for a while now because we had heard good things about it. And we were not disappointed! They have an extensive menu of authentic Chinese/Taiwanese cuisine (if I were smarter I'd be able to tell you the specific region. I believe it comes from the *tasty* region of that part of the world), and for you normies out there they've also got a large, and I'm sure delicious, section of the menu labeled "American Favorites". You get you some crab rangoons and don't let anybody yuck your yum.But I digress. First up was scallion pancake. Delicious and crispy! I found that the chili oil at the table was a great complement to it. Not your average chinese-restaurant-chili-oil. After that, we tucked into our raison-d'être, the Xiao Long Bao (we went pork). These were fantastic! We've had these at several places now and these were easily among the best we've ever had. From there we went to the pork-and-shrimp with leek steamed dumplings and let me tell you, the flavor and texture were outstanding! Different and very tasty dipping sauce with them. Next up, we got the Dan Dan Noodles with braised pork. I've had these at several places as well. Sometimes they're more on the spicy end with just a hint of peanut; sometimes they're basically peanut butter soup noodles (ew). Here at WWD they were definitely peanut-forward but not sugary sweet (yay!) and incredibly tasty. The noodles themselves were well prepared and tender. I downed the sauce after we finished the noodles and would've licked the bowl if I thought I could get away with it. Last up were the spicy pork and shrimp wontons. I was pleasantly surprised that the sauce included the numb spice in them, which if you haven't experienced it, make every effort to do so. It's addicting. These had a pleasant level of heat-- my wife is a bad Mexican who doesn't like spicy food and she could handle it just fine -- and the flavor was exquisite. The wonton texture itself was also some of the best I've had in the area.The service was top notch. We got there around 5:30 on a Friday and while it was starting to fill up we never felt too rushed or neglected and we got our food quickly. Host and servers were super friendly in a genuine way. Atmosphere was pleasant. For the sheer amount of food we got the prices seemed pretty reasonable. We will absolutely be back, and soon.“

“Food is delicious. I’ve been to A LOT of Chinese restaurants in the area and this is the best one.Most Chinese restaurants in the area are very mediocre in taste and quality in food. Grand Wok is definitely not one of those places. I placed a pickup order for combo lo mein, egg drop soup, and spring rolls.When I got to the restaurant to pickup my order, it was brought to my attention that combo fried rice was prepared instead of lo mein since that is what was heard over the phone. To me, that is not a huge problem and I told them not to worry about it and I can take it as is, however, the cashier (owner?) was very sorry for the mistake and asked me to wait 5 mins while they prepared the combo lo mein for me to take along with the combo fried rice that was accidentally made. Wonderful customer service.The customer service, taste, and low price is well worth coming here over the competition. “This place was really a gem for Sichuan food. I had my doubts before I visited but this place has exceeded my expectations. The decors was typical of a Chinese restaurant enhanced by "white influence". I ordered a spicy beef noodle and it was very good. The broth was light and flavorful, with sour vegetables and the beef was very tender and tasty. The sautéed kidney dish was the star of the show, as it was perfectly cooked and easily the best of its kind that I've hand in DFW. If this place was closer to where I currently live, I would be coming every week.“

My favorites are the lamb skewers and the hibachi cauliflower and hibachi broccoli.They have a house specialty spice mix that taste really good. They use a lot of cumin; normally dislike cumin and find it overpowering, but at Fat Ni there is something about the other spices that they mix it with that tastes amazing. “I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this weekly standby! I’ve had several of their dishes and have enjoyed them all. I especially love the chili-garlic green beans appetizer, the veggie spring rolls, and kung pao shrimp. Extra heat please, which they’re always glad to provide. Just ordered the Mongolian beef and hand pulled noodles with chicken. The Mongolian beef was tender and flavorful. Just a the right amount of sauce and not too salty. The hand pulled noodles were the gem though. Perfectly cooked and chewy with the right amount of flavor. The chicken was white meat and texture was delicious. Apparently there was a sign at the door that read they had Peking duck daily until they are out, which I will have to try next time. I wished this place was closer to where I live in Plano/Frisco, but definitely worth another trip to Southlake.“

“Went to Empress of China last night. Great because my wife likes Chinese dishes and I prefer Japanese or Thai. They offer all three.Sandi had an egg roll and Kung Pao chicken. All were hot, fresh and delicious. Chicken pieces were good size and veggies were bright and crisp.I had a Rainbow Roll, a few pieces of Sashimi and Padd See Ew with Shrimp. The Thai flat noodles were great. Dish was sauced well but not too much and delicious. Sushi roll and Sashimi were all fresh and prepared well. Service was great. Try the Korean Galbi-jjim (spicy braised short-ribs) - bone falling tender and so delicious! K-Pop Chicken was awesome too! Their fried rice has a hit of spice that is addicting, and you can’t find anything quite like it anywhere else! All the food we tried was so good! “This is our neighborhood go to for take out. We ordered four entrees plus fried rice today for lunch using their online ordering system. When we got home one of our entrees was missing. I called them to let them know their mistake immediately. The man answering the phone was very nice about it and said he would make it. Moral of my story is to ALWAYS check your food before leaving with it. It was pouring rain today and this was very inconvenient having to get out in the rain twice while our other three entrees got cold. Other than that, the food is very good.“

However, I haven't had many problems here. You'll occasionally get that one lady on the front counter who seems to be having a bad day (EVERYDAY), but that's okay! “Z's Wok came through for me on Christmas Eve. Ordered through Grub Hub and the packaging was top notch , keeping everything hot upon arrival. Portions are huge, generous to the max. The boneless bbq ribs? Oh those are going on my reorder list for sure. The spicy crispy chicken wasn't really spicy but it had great flavor. The combo fried rice was overall good. I did find the shrimp slightly underdone. But here's the kicker... the portions are so huge that I had leftovers not once but twice ! I made some leftover magic by chopping up the extra bbq ribs and tossed them into the fried rice alongside the crispy chicken and it was a whole new level of yummy. The flavors melded overnight making it better the next day. Even if the chicken wasn't crispy next day. Consider me a new repeat customer.“
