Cute, lil cozy restaurant, some of the best tacos I've had. They have different specials each day, and tomorrow it will be pozole. Definitely going back!

Been there a couple times a while back. Was in the neighborhood decided to get some tacos (gave one to a homeless man)... biggest regret, didn't expect to get a roach with my bacon and egg taco. Never will go back again. Just hope the homeless man's taco was better than mine. Told my friend that introduced me to that place. Turns out she stopped going a long time ago due to that exact reason.

2x I went up there and out of those two times they do not get the order right at all I called and all they did was dismiss me like I didn't know what I was talking about. My husband is deathly allergic to onions they made my taco how they wanted,,!
I really like this place. They have great food and good service. It's small and quaint. A bit of a tight fit with the seating but overall, great place.

First time trying it in a long while and it was ok. It wasn't really worth the price but I had to try and see. I just got a breakfast taco. It wasn't bad but could be better. I Don't know how the other food is but I'll try it soon.

Had chicken soup? It was very greasy and it didn't taste right? I paid for it but I didn't like it.

As I was driving around Corpus doing my standard Saturday brunch routine thing, I meandered over onto the West Side ("Central City") part of town. By the time I started to feel hungry (I generally follow my own intuitive hunger signals for breaking my fasts), it was lunchtime. And as it hit me, low and behold, El Chaporal was staring me in the face as I turned the corner from Gollihar onto Greenwood. It's a quaint taqueria in that it is obviously a neighborhood spot. Although it does not look like much from the outside, what it makes up for in food quality is more than enough to check this place out if you're in the area. It's small and a bit "rough around the edges," if you will, but that's part of what makes it great. Cozy in a sense. Being that it was lunchtime, I went "big" and ordered the molcajete (a standard mixed grill in a traditional hot stone mortar) - probably the most expensive menu item at around $15. It was good! Definitely of quality commensurate with other "higher end" taquerias around town. I also have to add that their salsas were super good too. Will I come back in the future? For sure! Hopefully next time I'll make it in time for some good taqueria brunch.
