I've heard my friends talk about this place. Heck I've heard someone at Stripes say This is the best taco place and it's down the street. Well, this is my first experience here as follows.Long wait time to get your order taken as there is no speaker on the menu and no help comes to take orders either unlike thier competition. I got to the window after a 20 minute wait just to order. Mind you there was only one vehicle in front and 5 cars parked on property and by the amount of different people coming to the window (this shows unsafe food and money handling) these were mostly employees. I cannot speak to phone orders etc.After they took my order I was beginning to think I was at the wrong taco place by the rotting wood falling away from the building and onto the ground. There was literally a chunk of wood falling from the building and onto the ground. Anyway after 10-15 minutes of additional wait time, my order was handed to me. I received luke warm tacos with over cooked, old looking, egg crust from the rim of pan...along with old potatoes that still had huge eyes on them and tasted like dirt when biting into it. Tortillas were hard with chunks of flour or baking soda still in them. All the tacos went into the trash.I'll never go back and that's disappointing when a business losses sight of quality control. Don't get me started on where they are lossing money on cost control like produce and ingredients.Another visitor had a similar experience. See photos. This is a pattern and if the owners don't act...it'll close down.3/18/23 - The building hasn't taken apart and they are still open. Amazing.

I did the taco challenge. That taco was so yummy with that red sauce. After the first 4 bites. I knew I wanted to enjoy every bite so I took my time and it was soooooooo good. The meat in the taco was so good.

I just did the chachos taco challenge and it was freakin AWESOME and the service was GREAT,but I wish I could have gotten more than 10 minutes to do the challenge.....I'm definitely coming back for the challenge.....
We heard about this place a year ago. finally made it back to Corpus Christi and couldn't leave Corpus before visiting Chacho's. The food was excellent.
