Best pastor I've ever had. The rice was amazing as well. The tortillas could be better but still adequate.

We enjoyed the food here since the first time we came, but they raised the prices, and it doesn’t reflect the amount of food and quality. Much rather go to La Ribera better food, and better pricing. Here I paid $19 and some change for the tacos, with charro beans with no drink, there I paid 12 for the same thing with a drink. I’m disappointed cause we were happy a place like this was downtown. But none of our office will be going back with the raised prices.

Everything was so amazing! My family loves to support local businesses and check out new places. My mom and I shared the fiesta platter, My dad got the enchilada plate, and my brother got the tacos alambra. They had flavored teas that were super yummy. Once they, get their liquor license, they will be set.

I ate here for lunch on a Friday and was able to easily find a seat though it was moderately busy inside. The interior of the restaurant has limited seating space, but you are welcome to order to-go or sit at the bar if you don't want to hang around. The prices are reasonable and the food quality was good. The rice and refried beans are what you would expect in many Mexican restaurants, but the meat was well seasoned and tasty. I ordered the Pastor Plate and would recommend it to others. My food was ready soon after I ordered it.Their flour tortillas are made in house and seemed to vary in style depending on who made them. I tend to prefer flour tortillas that have a little fluff to them, but the ones I had here didn't really have that. You might consider ordering the corn tortillas if this bothers you.Overall, it seems like a good place to grab a bite to eat. I will need to try them out for breakfast and see how they are since there aren't many restaurants serving breakfast tacos downtown.

In town for a conference and looking for affordable home cooking - Frida's is it! Liked dinner so much I came back for breakfast. Delicious homemade salsas and meals made to order. Caring, attentive service - definitely a local joint! Loved it!

Terrible interior design-atmosphere-bad service bad food-bummer was hoping for another good down town restaurant but this is NOT it! Why would you put tables in the service area behind a bar-slow service- basics were not brought had to ask for way too many things that should have been brought - waited over 10min for biscuits to be brought -had to ask for them 5min after they brought the grave then another before biscuit brought-gravey was now cold gritty bumps all in it -tortillas brought in a warmer were cold-took forever for check and to pay out-they weren't that busy-sooo disappointed

Frida's is located downtown on Starr Street near the House of Rock. It's a new restaurant, so there are issues that need to be addressed as they become more popular and have more time in business.Issue #1: They need more bussers. I've been there twice; once in the evening (a Friday at around 8pm), and again on a Saturday morning around 11 am. On Friday, they were very busy, but they had about four empty tables that needed to be cleaned off. We had to wait about three minutes, standing by the door, for someone to clean off a table. For such a small location, standing by the door is very awkward and unnecessary. The same issue arose on Saturday. Empty, dirty tables and an awkward wait by the door until we could be seated.Issue #2: The waitstaff is slow. They are very friendly, but wow are they slooooooooooow. They are tasked with a lot, I get that (I've spent years in the food and hospitality industry). Checking on your guest once every twenty minutes (again, it's a very small dining area) is unnecessary.Issue #3: It's cramped. I said it's small, but it's also very cramped. There's just enough room between tables for the the waitstaff to get around. Having a (kinda) private conversation is not possible at all, even with a quiet voice. That being said, the food is great! I had chicken enchiladas and my guest had the Chicken/Beef fajita plate. We were both very pleased with the overall quality. (Pictures are attached)The breakfast was pretty good. I had the migas plate (a la Mexicana) and my guest had the breakfast platter. (Pictures are attached)Overall, I give this place 4 stars, mainly for the quality of the food. The service could use some attention, especially in the area of bussing tables.Parking: Parking downtown is an issue. You have to do what you can to find a spot.
