BLUF: A good BBQ place, it's been hit and miss in the past, but has been pretty great the past month or so.One of the better BBQ sandwich places in Corpus I've visited this place frequently in the past few months. The Brisket and Sausage sandwich is always satisfying. If it was consistently good I'd have given this place 5 stars, but I've had my share of 2-3 star meals here. The plate tends to have unsatisfying portions (I only ordered this once 2 months ago).

The first time I went in was a week after it first open. It was bad the brisket ddnt tast good beans, rice and potatoe salad were also bad. But I went back today months later. Idk if they got a new pit master but everything was great. We will be going back if the food stays this good.

I work up the street at the Apartments. I looked at the Reviews however NEW COOK ! Food is delicious. My Maintenance guys eat there every time they work at this Property. Give a Local Business another Chance!!! Judge for yourself as you will not be disappointed.

Excellent customer service. Brisket was excellent. I didn't care for the potato salad. But all in all very good.

We were visiting Corpus Christi for the weekend and looking for something local to try. We are so super glad we found this place, though it is off the beaten path. The meal and experience were a delight to our day! Service was so friendly and excellent, and the restaurant was very clean. We weren't quite sure what to expect considering the building is a converted convenience store, but again, a pleasant surprise! We found the plentiful servings of food delicious. Moist and flavorful. We had the daily special of 1/4 chicken, which seemed like 1/2 to me, rice and beans. All were great even without any sauce. We also had a two meat plate with brisket and pulled pork. The brisket was sliced the thickest we'd ever seen at a restaurant and both were delicious. I will admit, some of the meat probably did have too much grease, but it was still really good. We also got two ribs to try. I loved them. Again, delicious even without the sauce. We would both definitely recommend you try the place and we would come back again when in the area. We were the only customers eating inside at the time, but that was by design on our part as we'd also wanted to find a place not super packed inside and it was later afternoon about 2-3 pm. But they still had steady business for take out and in the drive through. I'm not quite sure why some of the reviews are as harsh as they are. But, to each his own. We say, Go for yourself!

Considering it’s the only BBQ joint in flour bluff it could have been a gold mine. However there food has no flavor . Brisket is dry and tasteless. The chop beef sandwiches have so much grease by time you get to eat the bun is complete soggy and terrible. The BBQ sauce is homemade and taste like pinto beans or something. I’m assuming they cook in bulk then microwave to heat back up what it taste like anyway. Would not recommend. Their prices are outrageous as well. If it tasted good I wouldn’t mind paying but this is pretty bad. They need a new cook . If they could get it similar to a Rudy’s quality they would make a killing

The owner Luis Villarreal is a crook. Read Nueces County Court postings about him and see for yourself.

Worst expensive food ever, $50. BBQ sauce was uneatable, ribs were over spiced and fatty, even for pork ribs. Potato salad was gross. Beans were dumped out of a can and heated, not good quality beans either. Rice was bland. Shredded BBQ sandwich was so saturated that the bread fell apart and was bland flavor. Brisket loaded potato was more potato than anything and at $8 should have been loaded with meat. Double meat plate came with 6 ribs for $15, single meat was $13 but there was a $2 mark up per portion for ribs. Just save your money and go somewhere else. Best thing about the meal was the coke and we got that at stripes.

Worst BBQ I ever experienced. The home made BBQ sauce is not fit for human consumption. The potato salad was made with too much dill pickles and the brisket was very dry. Better to spend your money else where.

Delicious flavorful chopped brisket sandwich at a generous price and portion size. I don't even add BBQ sauce to my sandwich. The flavor and juices in the meat are perfectly crafted. The people there are very friendly and the atmosphere is cozy.

Service is excellent and personable. Beans are amazing as are the pork ribs! Family run and they actually care about your dining experience. Also they have pretty darn good moist brisket! I will definitely go there again when I’m fishing.

Walked in close to closing time and had a wonderful experience. Owners were very polite and friendly even threw in some extra food with our order. Ribs were my favorite of the meat options, in house bbq sauce has a very unique flavor, I enjoyed it. Sides were kind of small but main course was more than enough food, I left with a full belly and leftovers.

We went in for lunch and had a brisket sandwich and a brisket and sausage sandwich. Both delicious and moist and flavorful. She even brought us samples of the potato salad and coleslaw. Both great! We will be back. I also love supporting local!

I should have listened to the reviews. However I wanted to give a local start up a chance. By far the worst barbecue I have ever had in my life!I should have known something was wrong when I went in to the restaurant and it was completely empty at 5:30 on a Friday evening.I ordered a pound of brisket and a pound of pulled pork. Both were dry and tasteless. The included barbecue sauce was like none I've ever tasted before, and that is not a good thing. It took at least 15 to 20 minutes to get my order while I sat and waited in the empty dining Room. While I waited 3 cars went through the drive-through. I don't understand what could possibly take so long to slice up a pound of brisket and dish up a pound of pulled pork. When I put it in my car for the drive home it made my whole car smell like rank dog food! They wrapped it loosely in 10 foil and put it in a paper bag which leaked grease all over everything. This surprised me as I don't know how it could be so greasy yet so dry and tasteless.Got it home and took it out of the bag that was full of grease. Dished it up for my son and my mother and neither of us could stomach eating it. It went straight into the trash and I made frozen hamburgers for dinner.I have made better brisket and pulled pork in my instant pot!I really wanted this to be good barbecue as the bluff has no good barbecue options. They wanted almost $6 for 1 link of sausage. Not one ring or 1 pound but 1 sausage! I could see that price if they actually made the sausage in house but they don't.Next time I'll go to Rudy's as it is more reasonable and consistently good barbecue.
