The food here sent my mom to the hospital. She is very, very sick. That day, the service was weird and they were rushing us out within 30 minutes of arriving. Some of the food we got was also very questionable, including the chicken, which we did not eat. Dissapointed in Takeniwa. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Took family and friends (party of 10) for a Friday night dinner. Made reservations ahead of time due to party size. We were promptly seated for Hibachi style dinner at our reserved time. The server was fun and perfectly attentive to our groups needs and requests. The chef put on a great show for us and the food was cooked to perfection! Portion sizes were large- we have plenty of leftovers for a second meal! Overall, a great experience by everyone! Pricing, to include drinks and tip, averaged out to about $50 per person. Will absolutely visit again!Kid-friendliness: Chef was attentive to kids responsiveness to his actions and modified them accordingly to keep them engaged.

Have always loved the food here, but went this weekend and it was terrible. Ordered pad Thai with beef but it had a pork smell to it. The waitress said they don't serve pork so I said maybe it's sauce. Idk. She let me order a different dish. I ordered the angel hair noodles with chicken, which I've had several times, but this was disappointing as well. Noodles were over cooked and they used too much of a sweet sauce. I couldn't taste the chicken or veggies, just sauce. My husband was also disappointed with the basic fried rice. He said it tasted like rice a roni. Maybe they got a new cook, idk but it was just all bad.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience here! The chef was extremely entertaining. The serving sizes are worth the price. We will be visiting again soon,

Our first time there and food was fantastic. Service was great. So much food, portions were enough for two people per entree. We will be back.

Short wait for a table with drinks and appetizers ordered right after being seated. Food served hot right after appetizers are finished. Drinks reserved with fresh glass and ice, empty glass removed. Ordered three entrees for the two of us. Entrees are huge. Food was excellent! Five drinks total. The waitress was very attentive but not intrusive. The expense with the tip was reasonable.

We went to Takeniwa last night and I was severely disappointed. Let me start by saying my family and I travel full time and have been to numerous Hibachi style restaurants around the country.Upon arrival, the location itself is nice/clean looking. The hostess was fairly unfriendly. When our friends arrived we sat down at a Hibachi table. If we had not been with our friends, we'd have left after immediately seeing the absurdity of prices on the menu. Never have we encountered a Hibachi restaurant who charged $3 for fried rice! I got a steak/chicken at combo and it was $35. My husband got chicken that was $27. He opted for white rice because paying additional for something that traditionally goes with it seems like a scam. When the chef came out, the first thing he did was put his hands on our 5 year old son's face? He then went to do it again, and we actually asked him to stop and he laughed???? We weren't kidding. Then, after he was done cooking.. and going to leave, he DID IT AGAIN?! Absolutely not okay. I cannot believe this even occurred. The food was absolutely bland. I even watched him cooking it, I got fried rice and he barely seasoned or flavored it to the point there were clumps of white rice not mixed up in the fried rice. Same thing with the steak/chicken. I actually had to ask him for more sauce directly on my plate and it still didn't help. Also, surprised they didn't have "yum yum" sauce or ginger sauce where they give you it at the table. He had it and would put it on your plate if you asked, but the sauce itself left much to be desired. I always love even my Hibachi leftovers the next day and I am debating throwing them away, because they were just not good.Again, we travel full time, this was the second Hibachi in the area we tried - Koi was the first and it was significantly better and much cheaper. I would highly recommend avoiding Takeniwa and going to Koi!

Full time traveler here (@whatrvdoing). Go to Koi instead. We sat at the hibachi table with some friends. The good: soup and salad. The bad: first of all the cost. Had we not been with friends we would have stood up and left. They are $10 higher than every other Hibachi in the country. They also up charge $3 for fried rice or noodles. Everyone else doesn't. My Chicken Hibachi was $27 and my wife got the Chic. and Steak at $35. That is flat out absurd. Moreover, the Chef kept putting his hands on my son. I asked him to stop and he laughed. Then right as he was leaving he did it again. I think the manager or owner should reply to this post and comp. my families meal at the least for this disrespect. Battery is defined as applying physical force to someone unlawfully, resulting in bodily harm or contact of an offensive nature. Per google. Don't go here go to KOI.
