The brisket was good. They were out of french fries. I don't understand how anyone can be out of french fries. The fried pickles I ate instead were quite good. They serve battered onion rings which my wife really enjoyed. I would eat there again.

We tried their brisket and sausage today for the first time, very moist, tender, and tasty. Very impressed with both and without a doubt some of the very best Texas has to offer.

First of all they had changed the name of the restaurant. The sign says Diana's Place but on their door it says The Tipsy Turtle. However, on Google it is still recognizing this as the Texas Mesquite BBQ and Grill. The food was terrible. But the only decent food to eat there was the fries and the sausage. This place is a disgrace to BBQ especially in Texas. Will not recommend to others and will DEFINITELY NOT be coming back.

Texas Mesquite BBQ is now called Diana's, and they've still got all your favorite meats by the pound: sliced or chopped Brisket, chicken, pulled pork, sausage, and pork ribs. Classic sides are available, along with some house-made cobblers and other special desserts. On the sandwich menu, get any of these meats on a bun with pickles & chips for under $11. They also have burgers, patty melts, po-boys. The buns for these are super fresh tasting and slightly sweet. A full bar is at your service.Vegetarian options: Honey this is a BBQ meat house, but if you're comfortable eating just sides and desserts you won't go away hungry. For anyone on a liquid diet, the bar is fully stocked.

Great little restaurant with a dive bar feel.We are in town for a short weekend, and wanted to eat close to the AirBnB.Two sisters with a young lady who said she is the daughter of the owner are running this place!! Just the sweetest and friendliest women. Best service and just so helpful. We were so confused in trying to find the location— (hint-it’s to the right of the big wooden restaurant). I am including pics of the outside to help you all find it. This is where the old adage is true. Don’t judge a book by its cover, and don’t judge a restaurant by the outside.I really hope this place could be featured on diner’s drive in’s and dives!!! This would be on the list if Guy Fieri found it.First-the hamburgers are the best my husband and I have ever eaten!!!! $12.99 with fries and a soda, talk about cheap!!!!The ciabatta buns and hand made Patties, the hand cut fries and onion rings—oh my gosh yummy. My husband whom is fit as a fiddle and eats healthy, it was so funny to see him enjoying himself, he even ate my son’s leftovers;)Second—the only complaint—is that they don’t know how to cut brisket!! With the grain is a big no no!!! Ladies!!! Against the grain!!!! Brisket was dry too, so that was my only complaint.Loved this place we will be back!Kid-friendliness: Ask them to change the channels if it’s inappropriate they gave us the remote;)

I've ordered food here twice. Both times I ordered the brisket. Both times the meat was cut with the grain. This makes it kind of like eating a rubber band. Your customers may find it much more enjoyable if you would cut across the grain. The flavor of the meat was OK but nothing to write home about. The barbecue sauce was kind of a side step from ketchup. Overall I really think you can step up your game. Best of luck.

Excellent place to try for some bbq! The pulled pork sandwich is delicious.. the choice of bread (ciabatta style bread) they use is perfect. The bbq sauce is tasty a perfect blend of sweet and tangy. Great friendly service, she was such a help and had some great conversations with her. (I am sorry I didn’t know how to spell you name) but thank you! And the red skin potato salad is yummy! Great time to visit and have a drink especially on game day! Give them a try!! We will return … Support your local businesses/restaurants!

Totally impressed with the quality of food! Service was great too! We had the brisket balls, Texas Meltdown, and Burnt Ends Po boy as well as homemade onion rings and fries. We will be back!

The place seems to be unorganized. The menu has plenty of items crossed off with a permanent marker. Ordered ribs and brisket and they were out of ribs at 6:30 pm. The onion rings had the texture and temperature that they had been sitting in a warmer and not fried on the spot. The brisket was very rubbery. The beer is reasonably priced and cold. I will try again, but this time is was miss.

We thought we would give this local restaurant a try as we had not been in awhile. We waited forty minutes to get a rather mediocre meal. They were out of ribs @ 6:00pm on a Saturday so we choose Brisket. The plate included two very small slices of brisket, rather over-cooked and dry and a handful of regular French fries, which we were charged $1.00. However, the menu actually states we get one side with the meal. Plus, we were charged a debit card processing fee and I don't recall ever being charged a processing fee at other restaurants!!! Another thing we and several other diners noticed that they did not provide any knives at the utensil station. We had to ask and were provided a plastic knife which was rather useless for cutting the brisket! The place was not busy for a Saturday night with only a handful of diners, who were also disappointed with the quality of food and the long wait time! If the restaurant was crowded we could understand additional time to provide food service. However, this was not the case and it explains why the ONLY BBQ restaurant on the Island is not well patronized. The restaurant looks like it good do with a thorough cleaning and perhaps adding a few pictures would do much to make the place more appealing! We will not be going back and will make the trek OTB to Rudy's BBQ who know how to do BBQ right!!!

Really good food. Lovely people. The bbq meat was really good. 10/10. Good texture and flavor. The bbq sauce was honestly the worst sauce I have ever had in all my bbq experiences. Luckily the meat didn’t need sauce. But the sauce tasted like tomato bisque. Would have made a good soup. I can’t get over how terrible it was. We had 10 in our group. All agreed it was the most awful sauce ever. But even with that I would still recommend this place. The food was very good.

I've eaten here a couple of times and food is good. Unfortunately, service is slow! Waited almost an hour for two brisket sandwiches and they were "to go"!

Food is good but extremely slow. You can order your food, leave to wash your car, mow the grass, and fold your laundry, come back and still have to wait. Ordered a sliced brisket sandwich to go. Been an hour...posting a review to pass the time.

We stopped here for lunch. Everything was very good. We ordered the brisket burger and the short rib burger. The only thing I side eyed a little was the portion of onion rings. It could have been larger. We will stop here again.

Best BBQ I've ever had.Gator is the best since Louisiana.Fish is to die for, they even will cook fish that you catch and bring in yourself.I've even had an Argentinean Steak plate there and it was the best most richest juiciest, perfectly cooked steak I've ever eaten ever.I come here all the time, my family loves it too. Such a friendly atmosphere, highly recommend.
