This place has a real charm to it. The smell of the mesquite broiler, the nicely stocked bar, the old school TV antenna and neon sign on the building, and the generations of family that have worked the kitchen. I enjoy every time I visit especially the draft beer prices for happy hour Monday-Thursday.

Great food and a great portion for the price, I would make the drive from Oklahoma again just to eat here, Gloria was our server and she was so nice and extremely friendlyDietary restrictions: I am allergic to shellfish and they were more than willing to accommodate me and make sure there was no cross contamination

Fantastic. Soup was amazing. BLT and baked potato was amazing. I tasted my son’s chicken fried steak and it was amazing. He said he only wanted 1/2 but ended up eating the whole plate because it was so good. Service was so good. Very

I normally like going here for my steaks but today it just sucked from the food to the service. When we informed the owners wife at the cash register she didn't seem to care. Our waitress failed to keep our drinks filled, didn't bring straws, took forever to get a Togo box. The salads tomato was just a quarter of a tomato the cucumber was so thick and seemed to be going bad. The table they sat us was wobbly and one little bump, the top séemed to want to fall off. The free soup of the day tasted great the chicken fried steak was tough.Maybe the visit would have been better if the service was where it should of been. Or even if the owner actually seem to care how our experience was but they weren't. It's a same .

The chicken was dry and overcooked. Charred. They didn't have the veggies I requested and the wait staff kept coming by and interrupting us as if they wanted us to leave. They weren't even that busy to justify the bad food.

This is A truly hidden gem for Corpus. It's been around for decades and is on a side of town that is often over looked especially if you don't have any business over there. It was my first time there and it was delicious, from the cup of soup ( courtesy of the house) and the homemade croutons to the Delicious chicken fried steak! I almost can't wait to go again.

I usually don’t like to give bad reviews, but in this case people should know about how awful the food is being served. My husband order a steak that is supposed to be open flame grilled but it was cooked in a pan. The steak was grey had no seasoning and overcooked. The salads were wilted and had gnats. The green goddess dressing was watery. The waitress brought the croutons and the dip with her finger in it. The soup was cold. The fried okra was as hard as a marbles. The whole experience was awful. This place has really gone downhill. They definitely need new management, cooks and staff. We also had to wait 15 minutes just for the drink order alone.

Okay it's a little dated inside, but that's not why I go. I go because I've been going there since I was a kid! I'm now 70. Same great food I remember as a child. Every time I'm in the area I make it a point to stop in!

Our table had the cheeseburger, lamb gyro, and 10oz steak. Everything tasted great. Servers were super attentive, humorous, and friendly. Solid restaurant.
