ONLY FIRSTS IN 2024 led me to Pho Viet Mai after a quick Google search for a nearby Banh Mi. With numerous options available, the deciding factor turned out to be the reasonable prices at PVM. The restaurant, nestled in a Vietnamese-themed strip mall, greeted me with an empty dining room but ambiance was very quaint. The friendly grandma or auntie attending us added a nice touch. Opting for grilled beef and grilled pork Banh mi, I found both flavors to be enjoyable and distinctly banh mi-esque. However, the sandwiches could have been improved with a more generous portion of protein, as PVM leaned towards lighter meat and heavier veggies, making it challenging to distinguish between the two proteins. While it was a satisfactory visit, the distance makes it unlikely for me to make a special trip just for PVM.

This is my favorite local Vietnamese restaurant! The staff are so helpful and friendly and the food is always delicious and the wait time is not long. I recommend the spring rolls, the peanut sauce is delicious! I’ve tried their pho and other noodles dishes and enjoyed everything. There is good seating space for small and larger groups I’ve ate alone and with friends and enjoyed both experiences.Kid-friendliness: I brought my 2 year old niece here and they accommodated her with a chair and we’re friendly with her shenanigans.

Great staff with great food!!! They treat you well and they actually remember their regulars down to their orders!! The atmosphere is always nice and welcoming. Very good for families or even groups. My spouse is always getting the fried rice & I know why, ITS DAMN GOOD!! The broth is amazing... it feels like grandma's recipe . Please note: Prices have changed.. except for the drinks. Prior plates were $9.99-$11.25 and now they are $13.95 and so on. However, I love good tasting food and the staff here makes it so much better so paying their new price isn't a problem. The food is just that dang good . I have 0 complaints, keep up the great service and food!!! We will most definitely continue to support.

Once you arrive they make sure that you don’t have any allergies to food which I’ve never had that asked in any place that I’ve been too which I thought it was cool that they verify before had. Their grilled pork spring rolls are soooo awesome! Super flavorful. I was amazed. The pho and sandwiches phenomenal. 10/10

I have been patronizing this restaurant for almost 5 or 6 years now, I never thought to review it because the food speaks for itself, plus if you see other Vietnamese people that come to eat here that means the food is good. I know that sounds kinda weird but if native Vietnamese people eat here that means it is correct in taste according to Vietnamese pallets, that being said let's talk about the broth in Pho. The broth here is nothing short of excellent you can taste the richness in their beef broth it has hints of star anise, cinnamon and a deep flavor of the beef which is usually diluted in other Pho restaurants. This is one of the few places in the Cypress area that my picky kids will eat Pho at, they don't add any extra sauces to their Pho because it tastes great on its own. Plus their other dishes are amazing as well. If you love pork chop you definitely need to try theirs it's to die for... it's a must have!! Ambiance is very nice here, basic yet has a homey feel to it. They have plants and a fish tank which is very cool to look at while eating lunch or dinner. Highly recommended place to eat great Vietnamese food. Prices are good a bit pricey in comparison to Bellaire but an excellent alternative if you don't want to drive all the way to China town/ Bellaire to eat Vietnamese food. Best Northwest Vietnamese restaurant!!
