My friends and I were looking forward to having a good time in a very special place but we instead got nailed by smoke in our faces on the patio. Which is against the Dallas city code of policies. The burger was the only thing giving a 2 star review. The service was also excellent so I gave this place a 3 out of 5 stars. Please don't let people smoke within 25 feet of the doors. Last thing I want is 2nd hand smoke.

I posted about Bowen House and St. Martin's in the past, but we had another great experience I wanted to share with you. I had a business meeting at Bowen House and followed it up with dinner at St. Martin's last night. "It's rare you find restaurants/bars in your neighborhood that make you feel like you're at home because of the exceptional service." That was a direct quote from my friend who lives in the Dallas suburbs. Owner Pasha Heidari and his family makes sure you feel special from the moment you walk in. They're constantly greeting and chatting with patrons to ensure everyone feels like an important part of their family. You can catch Pasha in action in one of the photos. He's the don of the East Dallas restaurant scene. The staff also is trained to go above and beyond. Trenton, our bartender, overheard our conversation about different liqueurs and had us try something we never heard of called Amer Fleur de Joie. It's a delicious French Apertif that is basically a drinkable bitters. Amer means bitter in French but it is smooth and delicious. We were then offered a taste of Gran Patron because we were admiring the beautiful bottle on the top shelf. I'm not a big tequila lover but it was very smooth and delicious as a sipping spirit. The two delicious Bowen House whiskey cocktails seen in the photo are C. Montgomery Burns and There's Something About Mary. I highly recommend both if you enjoy whiskey. Here's to the amazing owners of some the best restaurants and bars we have in Dallas. Thank you and keep making us feel like royalty. Salute C. Montgomery Burns Scotch Sweet vermouth Espresso liqueur Braulio Amaro Chicory Pecan bitters (El Guapo) Woodford Reserve Sorghum & Sassafras bitters There's Something About Mary Whiskey Gran Classico Bitter Apertif Averna Amaretto Woodford Reserve Spiced Cherry bitters Saline

Food is top tier yall! 10/10, highly recommend!! Lorenzo was a great bartender & made us delicious drinks curated to our liking. We had the mushroom parpadelle pasta, filet mignon and Caesar salad. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. Lots of flavor! Service was great, place was clean. Go for the ambiance! Perfect date night or dinner with the girls! The place is small and if you're lucky, you might snag a spot in the "back room" which is romantic and private. The walls are all painted and there's a private bar with 4 tables. The music gives a jazz type feel

This was easily the most disappointing part of my visit to Dallas. There were high expectations for this craft cocktail bar in a rustic home. The problems began when we arrived an hour before our reservation because our dinner at Las Palmas lasted just an hour because of ultra fast service. While we waited to be seated, at least two other couples without reservations were seated at the bar, which was our requested place to be seated. We were eventually seated at a table. The acoustics were such that the noise level was pretty high. The menu seemed slanted towards having a lot of amaro and bitter flavors, but one could order off the menu or dealer’s choice. The latter was a bad decision by my husband, as what arrived at the table was not according to what he had specified. The server couldn’t tell us the name of the cocktail nor what was in it. The server said he would ask for a replacement, but this never came. Frankly, I’m glad, as I couldn’t wait to get out of there. I would like to rate the establishment less than three stars, but I’m hoping that the lack of polish was a bad night and not indicative, though there is nothing in our experience that would suggest this.

Beautiful restaurant with great customer service and very good food. This restaurant gets busy so please make a reservation before going. You'll be happy you did. We did the 3 dip appetizer, lamb and other lamb dish there and it was great. A nice selection of wines and cocktails that are made perfectly. Will be back soon.

Delicious cocktails and appetizers in a gorgeous old house. Their "back room" is so fun and a beautiful intimate setting with a bartender who will make you any kind of drink based on what you like! We had two appetizers, the escargot and the Bowen chips, and they were both delicious. We asked for more bread to scrape up all the sauces. We can't wait to go back for dinner! We went for a double date which was so fun, also a great date night spot or just a fun place to get drinks with friends!

I decided on having my birthday dinner here with friends and it did not disappoint. Definitely make reservations ahead of time, it gets packed, this was on a Saturday. The cocktails are very good and the server even surprised me with one when I told her I love spicy cocktails. We had the mushroom toast, escargot, beef tartare, and chicken tenders. All delicious and rich in flavor. The chicken tenders took forever when I asked for the bill, the chicken tenders arrived. They were burned. Bummer because some of my friends are picky eaters so they didn't really get to eat. Overall, we will be back as this place had great vibes and we will definitely give it another try.

Everything about Bowen House was absolutely outstanding! Came here with a group of friends mostly from out of town and had a lovely night on the patio. The inside ambiance is also fantastic. The drinks and food were a complete 15/10. Even better was our waiter who did such a great job of recommending drinks for each person at our table. I personally love mezcal and after I really enjoyed one drink on the menu he gave me recommendations of similar but different off menu drinks that were even better. Definitely a place you should check out, I know next time I am in Dallas I will be back!

10/10 recommend Bowen House! Service and vibes are awesome, especially if you’re able to snag a table at their back area bar. Sydney our bartender was awesome. Her service and music playlist choice is immaculate! She made me a Passionfruit Paloma which was ahhhmazing. I had 3 of them :)! If you’re into tequila cocktails, order the Passionfruit Paloma.

Overall I had a great experience at Bowen House! We went on a Saturday evening so it was super packed - make sure you get a reservation and come on time for it!! We only ordered drinks and they were all super good. They had a good variety and the staff provided great recommendations for the different options. My personal favorite was the public humiliation (silly name too)! The aesthetic was perfect for a speakeasy. It is in a house with mood lighting and very quirky artwork. I am a huge fan and will definitely be going back!!!

My favorite bar in Dallas. I’ll drive all the way from Fort Worth just for a drink here.
