So glad we stopped to get Dramatacos at the Saturday street market in Deep Ellum! We ordered the nachos with chicken tinga for the meat, elotes, and the quesabirria tacos with consommé! The portions were so generous, and all the ingredients were so fresh and tasted amazing! (Also love the small added touch of packing sturdy utensils and thick napkins. All their dishes are dripping with flavor, haha!) Please show your support for this humble family business!!!

They came to my job as a pop up food service. I ordered the quesabirria tacos. The order comes with 3 big tacos, consommé, a jalapeño, and some hot sauce. I ate these tacos within 5 minutes after the order was given to me. While the flavor itself was pretty good, the texture of the outer tortillas left a lot to be desired. Anyone who's had or made quesabirria tacos knows that the best part is the *crispy* pan fried outer tortilla that contrasts w the tender meat & gooey cheese. These tacos were not crispy at all...like AT ALL. It's not like they lost all crispiness in the 5 minutes it took me to walk back to my desk. It was never there to begin with. The griddle needs way more oil and needs to be much hotter to get that good texture. Granted it was really cold out there today, so I'm sure they were doing the best they could w their equipment...but a hotter griddle and adding a bunch more oil (or using the oil on top of the consommé) would go a long way to turning these 3 star tacos into 5 star tacos. They also might be a tiny bit better w a little saltier variety of cheese, like Monterey Jack instead of mozzarella or whatever it was they used. It would also be awesome if they offered any kind of chips on the side or something. The crunchy contrast would be welcomed & would be inexpensive for them to include. Overall, it wasn't terrible by any means, it was good...just has a a little room to improve! But I think they could get there with a few small tweaks. I wish I had a "before" pic...but I took my 2 leftover tacos home and reheated them on the griddle with hot oil and added a little extra cheese. THIS is how quesabirria tacos should look, ya know?

The website and map says they close at 2:00am on Friday. The open light was even on when I walked in. It's currently 10:15pm and she tells me they're closed.
