Wasn't happy with my experience. We went between lunch and dinner and there was only one other table there when we got there. We got queso and a margarita. It took a while to get my margarita and it was just okay. I got the prickly pear one and you couldn't taste anything other than mango in it so it was kind of disappointing. Two different servers were trying to help us. I told both I wanted to finish my drink before ordering. The queso was insanely bland. I'm not sure what the issue was but the little pieces of tomato in it were the most flavorable part. I finished my margarita and we were waiting for someone to come back so we could order. There still weren't very many people around and several servers walked by us or were standing at the host stand while we just sat there with empty glasses... I'm not even sure who our actual server was. We waited for a WHILE. I didn't keep track but I know it was at least 20 minutes, probably longer. Finally I made the comment that I didn't even want to order anymore and was ready to go and another employee walking by heard me and finally took our order. I ended up just getting an espresso martini and guacamole because I didn't want to spend $100+ on a meal there at this point. It took a long time to get my martini, but it was very good, I'll give them that. It was the only thing we ordered that was worth the price. It also took a weirdly long time to get the guacamole and then it tasted like absolutely nothing. Both appetizers were severely lacking in flavor. I was going to ask for salt and pepper to hopefully enhance the bland flavors but it took so long for someone to finally come back that we just got our check. The one girl who took our order and brought us our check was nice but the food was just not good and service not up to par for how few people were there. $66 wasted imo. Sorry to the employees - but it was bad! :(

Rice was underdone, hard. Lobster enchiladas had no lobster it was all corn on the inside. Ordered drinks that never came. Oh and got charged 2 dollars for a side of salsa Valentina. ?Don’t recommend this place unless you want overpriced nasty food

Our fourth time here no bad experiences here. The food is first rate, service excellent, and atmosphere clean and fun. TV’s with sports, indoor/ outdoor tables, and one of the best array of tequilas in the most comfortable bars I’ve ever sat in.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of dining at El Bolero in Dallas, Texas, and I must say, this restaurant truly exceeded all expectations. Never in my life have I experienced a chile relleno stuffed with crab, and the extensive menu offered a plethora of unique dishes that you won't find elsewhere. From appetizers to drinks, El Bolero stands out as a truly unique dining experience. It has quickly become one of my new favorite spots in Dallas, and I can't wait to return to try more dishes from their menu. The service, particularly from my server Dave, was exceptional. Dave went above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience, even offering to take care of me on future visits if I mentioned him. I highly recommend asking to sit in Dave's area for top-notch service. Overall, El Bolero is a standout in Mexican cuisine, offering a culinary experience like no other.Vegetarian options: Nopales taco

Have the corporate card or an out of town guest to wow? Take them here! Higher than average prices for food you can get nearby at half the cost. That said the atmosphere is pretty organized and great. The drinks are too sweet for my liking. Was disappointed on the “best margarita in dallas” (oil man), tasted like terry blacks frozen black margarita, both not my favorite due to sweetness. The best thing to get here was the squash soup. The empanadas are also a decent appetizer tonight accompany the meal. I would suggest skipping on the green michelada unless you really love green dipping salsa on everything.

Tried to take my son & our exchange student to have lunch at El Bolero on 4.1.2024. They wouldn't seat us stating "lack of staff" in the middle of lunch hour. I have been in the design district for 22 years and have never experienced this before. Disappointment as we often take vendors there for lunch.United Leather USA

I wanted to have a good day with my son and we thought that this place would be good we ordered guacamole but it was definitely a day old we didn’t feel comfortable and the waitress was taking to long to take our order and she attended to another people first and they came after us so we decided to leave. There was another waiter who did treat us good so because of that I believe that the service wasn’t completely awful.

Food is as great, but not worth the wait. Took 30 minutes for a server to arrive and another 30 minutes for drinks to arrive. Dinner took nearly an hour and half to arrive. The general manager didn’t apologize or acknowledge the service delay; he debated it with another manager.
