I give up. At this point I can't justify going to this restaurant. If anyone wants good American fare try Kennys Wood FireGrill, Al Biernets, or the Woodlands. The food at Hillstone is fine, but there are way too many rules which ruin the dining experience, rude staff, and tonight they could not cook the Hawaiian Ribeye properly, asked for medium kept getting medium rare. The rules are ridiculous!! Half the menu you can't take to go. Can't even ask for salad dressing on the side. Regarding the steak they could not cook, they cooked it 3 times and not once was I presented with a fresh steak. That aside my main complaint is the staff especially the managers, which they for some reason have 6 of on the floor. I only dealt with 3 and each was more rude and dismissive than the last. The first 2 times I sent my steak back both managers argued with me as to what I saw. At the end of the evening it seems the staff and managers decided that the best course of customer service was to ignore our table and gossip in the corner. Overall unprofessional and rude. The final manager threw oir bill at us and tried to walk away witjput even acknowledhing the table. It was ridiculous how dismissive these superfluous mangers were. At this point I can not in good consciousness recommend this place to anyone. There are too many good places in Dallas that care about their customers, please go there.

Great as always!Food is always consistent and their mixed drinks are always great. Sometimes the wait for a table is long, but eventually you get a table. As alternative if you sit at the bar, the service there is excellent.

Absolutely terrible and God awful hostess. I've never had issues getting a table until 2020 rolled around. Now it's "60 minute wait" and I spend money at the bar only to have them overpromise and under deliver EVERY TIME I'm there for a table. To top it all off seeing half of the restaurant packed full of old ladies in tennis outfits sipping iced tea and just chatting the while time is why they get 1 star. The food is not worth the wait. The low ceilings and packed bar are pretty much all they have going on. Hard pass.

Try to get a reservation at Hillstone late on a Friday, or pop in unannounced and you'll get a sense of how popular this location is. And for good reason. We have this on regular rotation and have never had a bad meal or experience. This is one of those few restaurants where we don't end up having a fixed order. We've tried just about everything and liked it, so it's always a guess as to what we will order. Good drinks from the popular, lively bar, and easy parking make this a favorite. Just remember to reserve early!

We had lunch at Hillstone over the weekend & sat at the bar, I told the male bartender that my food was not hot, he immediately became mad told me that it wasn't that it just came from the kitchen, this matter was resolved by having the food heated however the manager was equally rude. I did leave a 25% tip as I wanted to do my part, however we will never return, we eat out all the time and I was never treated in this manner.

They do not want to seat families with infants apparently. We came in at approximately 2pm on Monday 3/11 with our 10 month old son and were told by the hostess (young woman, dark hair) the restaurant does not have highchairs. This seemed very odd to me as I've never encountered a restaurant that did not have high chairs but we accepted and left. It was bothering me so I called back that night to try and make a reservation for the same type of table (2 adults, 1 highchair) and the host over the phone accepted our reservation details.I'm not sure why this particular hostess did not want to seat us for lunch but we won't ever return and are disappointed in the hostess' attitude and actions.

We are regular customers and one particular night out there I asked the waitress how many drinks have I had she stated 3 then she left and came back and said she couldn’t serve me or my guests because she couldn’t serve us more than 3 drinks but yet served the other people beside us and I counted 5 glasses of wine so because of the way she assumed since I asked her one simple question she assumed we were drunk and because of the way she went about things me and my guests decided not to tip her either so I went back there on March 8th 2024 and The Racist Manager Basically said since we didn’t tip her from last time even though we had a 500.00 tab that we paid and she basically wanted me to pay the Tip that we Refused to pay because we were not happy with her service so why would I Tip her so basically the Manager said that we couldn’t eat there so basically me and my wife left we will never eat there again

Baby that cheese bread!! Omg it's so good. This place is my best friend and I's go-to restaurant. Service was always great. And it's on a rooftop like, what view is better?

The worst service and food in Dallas. The bar tenders are extremely rude and nasty. They do not even know how to make the simple drinks. The manager does not know how to address simple feedback. They act like the "mean girls" club. Do not waste your time or money going to this place. It will be a huge disappointment. The "regulars" are a bunch of drunks and you have to wait until they are all seated before you can sit down, which is 2 hours at best. Whomever is now running this restaurant has bastardized what once was an amazing place to go. They do not deserve to work here. Until they are all gone, I won't be back. Please spend your time and money elsewhere. The food quality is also lacking. I'm not really sure what the stringy meat was on my salad. It was overdone and greasy. Just disgusting.
