We tried to go eat here today but it says for lease and it wasn't open. Yelp might want to update this.

You start with a unique combo of salsa and black bean dip and the chips are reasonably fresh too, we had fajitas both beef and chicken were good it came with rice which was not dry. And what you would assume to be bean soup I don't know if there was their version of Charo beans or what. But different, guacamole was good but a little different. I was a little disappointed because there was no sour cream with the fajitas. The only bad thing was waited 20 minutes for my check out to be processed. Maybe due to lack of personnel, but the waiter was excellent except for the checkout. All in all a different experience with Mexican food which is a good thing. I gave it five avocados

The bowling alley was full, so we ended up at Los Jimadores. The enchilada plate was excellent - beef, chicken, and cheese. My friends enjoyed the margaritas. It is not fancy, which is fine by me. Good food at a fair price!

The quality of the cooking dropped significantly, and after 3 visits they still didn't have the wine my wife loves (they couldn't get the supplier to bring any / the price had gone up so much / whatever) so we stopped going about 6mo ago. But we recently read a review that the restaurant had a new owner and the food was again exceptional, so my wife and I went back. And indeed, the quality of the food was what I'd remembered when we first started going there a few years ago; they again had the wine wifey loves, and the place was back up to where it had been. My rating? Back to 5* (1-5-22)

1stvisit: A surprising delight! Nice open and roomy environment with a bar. Greeted with a fresh chili salsa and a tasty black bean dip. We complimented the meal with a cup of some of the best queso in the area. The server was the type of server you wish you had every time you go out.The food was fresh, presented well and delicious. We will be back to test it out again.

This is one of the best Mexican food joints around this area, and there is several around, trust me!!! Great, great food! They are going through help changes like everyone is, so if you can just be patient and wait on it, you won't be disappointed

Was pretty excited when we got to the restaurant. Ordered & got food, which was wrong. I totally understand mistakes can happen but when nobody comes back to check and make sure that we didn't need anything until everyone is finished but myself with the incorrect order I don't feel like customer service was of very high priority. Missed the tarket with me.

We were not aware the restaurant was closing at 3 in observance of Independence Day, and we arrived at 2:45. They were very gracious letting us in even though there were only two other parties and they were finished. They never made us feel rushed, the food was delicious and plentiful, and the margaritas had just the right amount of kick. Love the complimentary salsa and bean dip. We will definitely be back!

This place was delicious!!! Everything we tried was excellent. Warm salsa and bean dip were on point. Street tacos had tons of flavor. Can't wait to go back and try more!!!

So my family and I decided to take a break away from the madness and our stressful home situations we have been experiencing this past week, no water, bursting pipes, flooding, the whole 9 yards‍. We met up at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants down in River Oaks after calling to verify they were open today. From the time we entered the establishment the waiter sat us down, never greeted us nor gave us any friendly energy or vibes. Once he came back to the table he rudely instructed us to download the menu by pointing at the barcode at the table and then gave us 1 physical menu. We asked if they were serving margaritas, he said yes and then walked away saying when we were ready he would come back. We never gave him our drink order, mind you there were ONLY 3 other families in the entire restaurant so it wasnt busy (if I have to mention, they were all Caucasian families) When the waiter came back to take our order he was extremely short & seemed agitated with us after my mother asks if she can have black beans instead of refried or if that was available, he rudely pointed at the menu. I chalked his rigid replies and mannerism up as there was an apparent language barrier & maybe he was getting frustrated because he did not know what we were asking. The entire exchange between this waiter and my mother and daughter who are the most humblest, mild mannered, soft spoken, grace showing people I know, both were uncomfortable with his behavior. The final straw was once he walked away after taking our order he goes to the bar area to input our order on the computer/register thing. I was watching him and he actually looked up at me and shook his head! I couldnt believe what I had witnessed. Were we being difficult because we asked for black beans and spinach enchiladas? Was he irritated with us or frustrated because he did not know how to convey what was available on the menu? It's hard not to believe the color of our skin had something to do with his dismissive attitude towards us. We decided to leave after he actually looked at me and shook his head from across the dining room! On our way out my mother went up to him to express her desire to speak with a manager. He said he was the manager, I highly doubt that. I told him in my limited Spanish that he had been extremely rude to us and we've been going there for years but his attitude towards us was unacceptable. He did not care to hear what I was saying and kept saying ok, ok,ok as we exited the restaurant! It's sad that Los Jimadores will NEVER be a place where my family will go to enjoy dinner, after work margaritas, birthdays, etc all because of the treatment we received on today. I hate to make this about skin color but I'd be remiss to believe it may have played a factor. ‍

We used to love this place but now I am sorry to said that the service was very slow and bad. We had a different server, very young and he seemed a little bit distracted. The menudo was flavorless. I am giving them two stars because the pancakes with bananas and blueberry were good. I may not returned to this place :(

Can here for lunch on a Saturday and ended up getting the breakfast tacos. It came with two large tacos and a side of hashbrowns for 8.99. It was great! The tortillas were homemade and fresh and the hashbrowns were seasoned well and crispy. Would recommend!

What a pleasant surprise! We stumbled upon this place by accident and I am so glad. It will be worth the trip there again. Service was personable, professional, and efficient. Food was great. I loved the taco meat flavor and spices! Happy hour prices are great.

I was a bit on edge going here, but honey when I tell you you can't go wrong, you can not go wrong going here. The food was mad delicious (just a bit on the cheesy side) but still delicious guacamole was so flavorful.
