Stopped in for lunch while in town for business. Great service, food and atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Mary was amazing and very attentive to our party! Great spot for lunch or dinner, and you can't go wrong with the combo fajitas.

Terrible service. Few customers are here, the hostess was dour and unresponsive when I arrived, the service is unaccountably slow. This is my fourth visit and the service has been sub par every time.

The outdoor patio was nice, it seem staff was a little stretch because most everyone was inside and only two tables outside. Food can out fast. One dish was cold, but the waiter was not around for us to have him warm it up.

I don't know about you, but I find that it's difficult rating Mexican/Tex-Mex joints in Dallas, Texas. After all, Dallas is full of good Mexican places and it would be tough to find some that are really bad. Quite frankly, if an eatery served-up some New Jersey style enchiladas, they'd be run out of town on a rail. Most Mexican/Tex-Mex places in this city serve up traditional favorites that are pretty solid and Mattito's is one of them. If you're looking to get your fix of Fajitas, Chile Relleno, or Chicken Enchiladas, you're not going to go wrong at Mattito's. And on my visits, service has been prompt and friendly. I suppose there are places that might have a better decor or maybe a fancier swirl Margarita, but when I'm in the mood for Mexican favorites, I don't care about those things and if I'm close to a Mattito's, they'll give me what I want.

It took way too long to get seated in an almost- empty restaurant. Then, another wait for a server to appear. He was friendly and took out drink order. Returned after that to ask us what our drink order was. (There were two of us, so it wasn't that hard). The salsa he left was tasty and the chips crisp. He left, then returned to tell us that the mango margarita that we ordered was unavailable; no mangos.Delivered the amended drink order and took our food order. I ordered enchiladas with queso sauce and charro beans. The orders were delivered... I got refried beans. The queso sauce was gummy. It was not even warm and it tasted of cold Velveeta. No spices, not creamy, just cold, unseasoned, processed cheese product.Nothing on our plates was near hot... more like it had set out for a very long time before it was delivered. We were the only occupied table in our section and it was over two hours til closing time. There was no reason for any of our experiences. The skinny margarita was one of the best I've had, and the second- choice strawberry margarita was tasty.Lesson learned: go to Mattito's for drinks, somewhere else for food.

Really good Tex-Mex. I usually eat lunch at the bar, the service is good. I've ordered take out for lunch and it's still just as good as dining in.

Visited early evening. Place was almost deserted - it took a wait to get seated, then another wait for a server. He was very friendly - things were looking up! Took our drink order - two drinks. Left, then came back and asked what it was that we ordered. He left again, then came back to say they were out of mangos, so no mango margarita. Confirmed salt/no salt for mine, took our food order, then bustled off. I ordered cheese enchiladas with queso topping. I can't express how awful they were. No seasoning, straight Velveeta zapped in the microwave (inside and on top of the tortilla!) I asked for charro beans - got re-fried. He replaced that. I've visited another location of Mattito's and enjoyed it. I'm not sure what happened here. It was awful. One plus: the salsa was very tasty - chips were fresh and crisp. And, finally, the skinny margarita was great! Lesson learned here: great place to drink - awful, inedible food.

The margaritas were also top-notch, with a variety of flavors to choose from. The service was excellent, with the staff being attentive and accommodating throughout the meal.
