I’m always been weary of restaurants with the name “New York” in them, as they usually turn out not to be very much like NY at all. I finally gave in when a tempting deal popped up on a food app. NY Sub exceeded my expectations in every way - the flavor was exceptional and the portion of meat was generous. My husband (a New Yorker himself) said, “There is NO reason these subs should be this good.” ? The atmosphere leaned more toward Chicago but it still worked. The fairly youthful staff impressed us with their friendliness and professionalism, a rare find in many eateries. We will be back.Kid-friendliness: High chairs, arcade games, picnic tables outside

If you like pastrami and deli sandwiches, this is the place to come. OK, if you're in New York, Katz's Deli is best, but when in Dallas -- especially near SMU -- this is a great option. The Reuben sandwich which included pastrami at our request was delightfully overloaded with the meat. It was large enough for me to divide it in two for two meals. We hadn't been here in a couple of years, but the quality remains good and the staff was polite and friendly for our takeout order.

Cute location that's been around for 50 years. My Reuben was nice, the smoked pastrami was amazing, but I am not a fan of having all the sauce and pickles on TOP, where you're forced to get messy and lose precious condiments. We also ordered the "every stop on the subway" which was so-so. There were not enough veggies for a sandwich which claims to have everything.

I have been here before and I enjoyed my sub. I'm gluten free (the gf bread was very very dry). I went yesterday and I took a bite of my sandwich and it was the normal white bread. This is troublesome because I am celiac. I hope they become more aware of allergies. The cashier was also extremely sick and sneezing constantly.

Always get the full. I had the OMG today, which was delicious. I love warm/toasted sandwiches. I've also had the Reuben, which is also amazing. Would recommend both.

We ordered two sandwiches with chips and drinks and it’s was $40.00The pastrami sandwich was super plain with not a lot of flavor. The #5 ham and capocollo literally tasted like a grocery store sandwich. The bread on all sandwiches is absolutely store bought and was very bland. And we just couldn’t get over how much the sandwiches tasted like they came straight from the grocery store deli. Also, they messed up our order and gave us the pastrami when we ordered the brisket pastrami sandwich, so we didn’t get to try what we actually ordered.I normally won’t post bad reviews but I just can’t figure out how they have such high ratings. It wasn’t terrible… but I definitely wasn’t impressed… especially for $40.00I’ll continue hitting up Jimmys food store for the best sandwiches on Bryan or even Jimmy John’s is better in our opinion.

Either hire more employees who can work fast or get better equipment or something because no matter how busy or good the place is there is not one single reason on this planet as to why it should take 40 minutes for half a sandwich. I will not be back.

Love the place but the wait time is insane. 1 hour for sandwiches. Come on.

Wow! Amazing! I’ve never written a review for a place let alone written a review for a place while I’m eating there. This is the best brisket pastrami sandwich ever AND on top of that, this place is a true hidden gem!

The pretzel bread and cherry soda is sooo addictive, can't wait to stop by again!!some other students also said this place is pricy. It smells like my grandpas house but it's a nice retro place to escape modern lifeParking: 5 spots out front, alley nearby iirc
