This is my opinion. Don't let my opinion ruin your first visit here. If you're a local who been going to records for years? More power to you. Bottom line if a gas station had a bbq joint this is what gas station bbq would taste like. I did not have high hopes trying records. I was disappointed on the rib plate. I enjoyed the sides Mac n Cheese and beans more than the ribs. OUCH! Because I've tried Terry blacks in Dallas and Franklin's BBQ in Austin I was expecting the same. But nothing close to Texas bbq. A decent bbq joint curious to try only once and move on.

I used to love Records BBQ. I wish I could still be a fan. I ordered a rib sandwhich. I would NOT recommend. The ribs would be amazing if they had more flavor rub and smoke flavor. The sauce was also poorly made and tasted like tomato paste and water. I hope this review serves as positive feedback for this establishment to do better, stop cutting corners, get REAL BBQ sauce (or make it), and redeem themselves to the many customers tastebuds they have failed.

My comment is primarily to give the establishment recognition for the service it provides. I’m typically a drive through customer, and each time I’ve frequented the staff has been nothing less than hospitable, charming, and professional. I love it. Keep up the wonderful customer service.
