Had a nice appetizer and espresso at the bar with the bartender Jose after visiting the DMA this week. Room was nice and light, manager stopped by to check in and was very attentive. I look forward to returning for a full dinner experience soon.

We hadn't visited this restaurant since it established its new presence in the Joule Hotel. In retrospect, it would have been better to hold on to old memories. Almost every aspect, especially the food, was a big disappointment. To name a few of the dishes, the "calamity" pizza, the "debacle" meatballs, the "tragic" tomato sauce and the "misery" sour espresso. One thing was far above average, that was the pricing for the dishes. In italiano diremmo "triste". I rate it an "avoid".

Sassetta has lots of options for Italian food, like pasta, pizza, and salads. All of the pasta was so good! I substituted the pappardelle to the lobster spaghetti and it added a smooth texture that contrasted the crunchiness of the pistachios. The red, tomato based sauce had an earthy, nutty flavor. The bolognese and cacio e pepe were also great options as well. The tiramisu was deconstructed with a chocolate mousse alongside a beautiful chocolate and coffee flower cake. It was smooth and sweet with a slight bitterness to it. The flower was edible too! The interior has a bright and modern feel to it with candle lighting to create a soft mood. The servers were super friendly and great but service was on the slower side so it's more of a leisurely dining place. Shoutout to the server who gave us complementary champagne so we could celebrate a friend's promotion! Parking is street parking only which can be hard in the heart of downtown but thankfully they offer complementary two hour valet

Nice Italian restaurant! The food was great and the price were reasonable. Go early for dinner and you can experience the calmness of Tuscany, but as soon as dinner time come, it was very noisy. Awesome wait staff. She was so very patience with us. Our group asked lots of questions, some repeating the same questions, but she explained them again!

Decided to try this place out after checking out an event at the Eyeball. It was super convenient since it was located right across the street. The restaurant is located in the Joule. We didn't have a reservation, but we were seated immediately. Our waiter, José, was energetic and kind. I ordered a seasonal pizza that had chicken sausage, peppers, jalapeño and drizzled honey. My significant other ordered the filet mignon with whipped potatoes, broccolini, and appetizer mushrooms. For drinks, an old fashioned for him and espresso martini for me. We waited nearly 40 minutes for our food, as the look on my face expressed impatience, we were finally told that there was a mishap. The chef accidentally put pork sausage instead of chicken and it had to be remade. I wasn't happy about having to wait longer, but I appreciated the transparency and José recognizing that it was pork because I absolutely do not eat it. When the food finally arrived, everything was tasty! The manager came over twice, apologized and comped my pizza and martini. That's great customer service right there!! Some other restaurants can certainly take note. Overall, I will be back to give them another try.

I stopped in here with my friend for half price pizza after visiting the eyeboretum across the street and was pleasantly surprised. When we walked in the hostess, Danielle was beautiful and so pleasant. We were seated right away and our server was Jose. He is an amazing young man who also provided some of the best service I've experienced. Now it's one thing to have great service, but i know you want to know if the food was any good. I'm happy to inform that we started with drinks- my friend had scotch neat and was so pleased with her 16 year old scotch that she ordered a second. She had fun chatting about scotch with Jose. I don't drink much alcohol so i was happy to see they had some fun Mocktails on the drink menu (very last page). I tried the passione because im a big fan of all things passionfruit. I wish this was a bit more passionfruit forward- it was pretty heavy on the ginger. The drink was beautiful and def worth trying out. We shared the salsiccia de pollo pizza with calabrian chili oil. Its a chicken sausage pizza with fontina, mozzarella, roasted peppers, Calabrian honey and onion fritto.it was so good. Definitely get it with the chili oil. I wished we had more room so we could try more things but we'll definitely have to come back! This is apparently a newly rolled out spring menu. Love it. We decided to spring for dessert and shared the tiramisu entremet- it was soooo good! I don't even like coffee so i don't usually live tiramisu things. The entremet itself was very light coffee flavor and so silky and delicious. It was served with a coffee crumble, coffee gelato and a marsala cream. It was heavenly. Would also love to try the creme fraiche panna cotta. It sounds delightful! The ambiance of this place is lovely. I love the big window looking out into downtown. The waiters have interesting aprons with beige outfits. My friend said the aprons remind her of home depot. They are much nicer but i thought it was funny. Loved everything about this place. Several others stopped by our table and they were all delightful.

The bartender wrote in a 50 dollar tip on my receipt. 2 spaghetti diners and 2 drinks 167.00 dollars. Shame on her.

I recently dined at Sassetta for lunch and had a great time!We began with the hamachi crudo and the Caesar salad - both were really delicious. Then went onto the burnt honey pizza and lobster spaghetti. Again, both great. I think the lobster spaghetti won best in show, truthfully!Danielle, the AGM, was friendly, fashionable and hospitable- everything you’d want from a chic downtown concept.Brava, team!

I was in Dallas for a conference and Sassetta came highly recommended by a colleague - and it did NOT disappoint. I had one of the pizzas which was delicious. I sat at the bar and received GREAT service. I thought the price point was fair for the quality and presentation of the food as well as the ambience and service.

The good: Easy to get a reservation, very friendly service. Excellent rigatoni and salad. The bathroom hand soap smells really good. The bad: skimpy wine pours, very over priced for what it is, small portions, long wait times. Food took over an hour to come out. They ran out of lobster for the lobster spaghetti and swapped in shrimp. No problem, but they charged the lobster price.
