The staff is so kind and go out of their way to make you feel taken care of and celebrated!! The treats are soooo amazing! You can tell everyone that works here cares so much about their customers and the delicious food they serve! Thanks for helping me make Mother’s Day extra special this year!

These Sand Tarts took me back to my childhood! Buttery, not too sweet, the buttery taste is sinful! I enjoyed being taken back to 26 years to memories with stealing Keebler shortbread pecan cookies.... oh my they're perfected with goodness and just enough of everything. My bestie shared theses delicacies with me and I'm so thankful! I will be back!

This place has gone so far downhill it's almost unbelievable. Unfortunate as it used to be THE bakery in town

After being a customer for nearly over 30 years for every holiday and family birthday and event (including my wedding) I was treated so rudely by a counter person when I went in to place a large custom order for a baby shower that I'm done with Stein's.

You must get the cheese pockets! They are so dangerously delicious. I feel like I could eat five every day and be so happy. Everyone there is so nice and helpful.

I've been a Steins customer for 40 years and while I've recommended them to friends and colleagues over the years; I may have to re-think that. I ordered a 7" white cake with purple roses and was quoted $40 including extra roses. When I picked up the cake, there were 3 roses. That to me, does not seem like extra roses, so I asked them to do the extra roses (while I waited). When I checked out, I was charged $45 dollars by John. So I basically paid another up-charge on top of what I was already quoted. This place needs to re-think their customer service BIG TIME! For a while, the ambiance was very negative but I kept coming because of the quality of the baked goods. There are several nice girls working there, but the overall attitude is still negative as evidenced by my latest interaction. I have loved Steins for many years, but I'm not willing to be charged double when my order is not right.

I hate to leave this review, but I think it's warranted. I used to drop in at steins frequently when passing by to grab a coffee cake or cheese pocket or especially fix a craving for a wedding cake cupcake. I stopped by a few years back and my items tasted dry and old, and almost like cigarettes- it was terrible. It kept me from coming in and today my kids begged be to stop by when we were in the shopping center. I walked in and a sweet employee brought my kids some cookies. I asked if there were wedding cake cupcakes and she said yes. So I grabbed 1 of those and 2 chocolate for the kids. I was really looking forward to prove my last visit wrong, but I was really disappointed. They were dry and flavorless and tasted old. It certainly wasn't wedding cake, just vanilla cake...so i was irritated she said it was.It honestly was on par with a walmart cake. There was barely any frosting (and im not a frosting lover, but it definitely needed more). My boys ate their cupcake and came back to tell me that they tasted disappointing because there wasn't much flavor and didn't seem fresh. We frequent a lot of bakeries and while these were inexpensive, I would much rather pay double for a cake with flavor that is baked that day. I wanted to buy more and support them, but by looking at the ingredients in their bread, even the burger buns had food dye in them (buns don't need yellow, they need egg yolks for color. So sad!) and ingredients that don't seem like good bakery quality-not any better than the grocery store with dough conditioners and preservatives and food dye- Such a shame because I really want to support this well-established business as I used to enjoy them but I can't. Also, all the cookie selections- do people really eat tons of thumbprint and the various small cookies that much anymore? While the cases were full, the items seem underwhelming and nothing looks amazing or fresh. The gingerbread men looked like they were decorated by a kid. It seems like Steins needs to change with the times and focus on quality ingredients and flavor/freshness or get back to the basics of how they used to be. Not sure if ingredients have been compromised due to covid setbacks and rising costs of ingredients, but this poor place is not what it used to be and today will be my last visit. I'm sorry, Stein's, I want to support you but I can't recommend you.

My favorite bakery ever. My mom started as a patron about 50 years ago. Love their breads, rolls, and cheese puffs. But it's the COFFEE CAKES that feed my Stein's addiction. Raspberry, Cinnamon, apricot. And the star of the show....STRAWBERRY CREAM CHEESE. One mouthful and your in Pastry Heaven. Thank you, Stein's, for being part of every Christmas in our family since the 70's....

Service was good the people working were attentive and fast. There is a large variety of baked goods on display and all pretty low price. I’ve been craving a Danish since coming back to dallas, so thought I would try this place out. Unfortunately the cherry Danish and cinnamon butterfly taste like they were store bought from a package. Way too sweet, the puff pastry is not fresh (very soft and doughy), cherry taste like it came from a can, and there is way too much fat in the milk used for frosting. I got a film of fat on the roof of my mouth. For 2.50 I don’t mind the quality, but I don’t think I would come here for good pastries. Maybe cakes and cookies are better.

Birthday cakes are good but they don't consistently answer the phone during posted business hours. Aggravating.

I called to inquire about Christmas cookies. The lady that answered hung up on me. I called back and the same lady mocked me when I said hello. So bizarre and then hung up on me again. Clearly unstable and rude employees.

After hearing people rave about Stein's I finally stopped in to give them a try. What a disappointment. The seasonal cookies looked like they were decorated by an elementary school art class. When we asked if they had any vegan options, the answer was a dismissive "No!" As in, why would you even ask such a ridiculous question? As we continued to browse, another customer was there picking up a cake they had ordered. Apparently it was incorrect but rather than apologize and work to fix it, the employee said, "I don't decorate the cakes, I just work the counter, that's somebody else." Excuse me?? At that point we just walked out. I don't care how good their stuff tastes, with service that bad I'm definitely going somewhere else!
