I was a little disappointed this time around because the barbecue sauce was a little too watery for my baked potato ? that was made all the way. I drove all the way to Oak Cliff with my husband from east Texas (Wills Point) because I remember my uncle use to bring me here to get food to eat and I have been coming here sparingly every since. I love the pound cake. I will be back for more. No feelings hurt here it was my husband's first time eating here. He loved it except for the barbecue sauce and you tricked him with the sour cream. Lol ? Sorry I forgot to take pics but will do next time.Parking: Very limited because it's off Lancaster rd down the street from the VA on the right side if you coming from the Illinois direction and on the opposite side of the bridge coming from the VA to the left.

One thing that stood out to me while I visited this location is there was roughly 4 maybe five employees working. The younger employees prepared my order while the senior employee took my payment. I had been there several times before and knew exactly what to expect. The younger guy standing behind the counter prepared my entree, me being from a small country town I spoke to him in a soft subtle voice, expecting a more cautious reaction or should I say treatment. However to my surprise I was met with the common identity of Dallas natives, "time is money, money is time" so I made a quick decision without looking at the menu to select a dish that would be carefully sought after in many bbq restaurants "combination plate" brisket, ribs, with potatoe salad and baked beans. The young man made me a chop beef sandwich. Loosing his focus while answering questions from other staff member and trying to multitask. Once I made it to the register I was unaware what I just had bought until I finally sat down to open my brown bag that the food was stored inside. It was a chopped beef sandwich, had one before and a little upset, but I knew it would taste good as well. During the time I sat down and began to take bites out of my sandwich I also notice a few other things that was a pleasant sight to my eyes to see. Curvy plus sized big hips chocolate divas coming in simultaneously as I stuffed my faced. That made up for a large portion of the disappointment. However the good deed that Im about to get to is the highlight for the visit. There was a African American guy I would say in his 50's came over to my table and provided me with some good old strawberry Koolaid for free. That made me feel very special, that was a signature statement to me to say he appreciates my business, and that every customer despite him not knowing you is valuable to him as a person first and business second. That made me say subconsciously he has a pivotal role in his community. I respect that!

Ribs were burned and very tough, potato salad has too much mustard in it and is bitter, I will not be returning, the last few times has been bad, giving the place the benefit of the doubt because there are bad days, but my backed potato what I normally order every time has been out for too long and brown in the inside and the bbq too watery, this time instead of ordering a potato I went with the rib plate and was Awful. Never Again!!!!

Customer service is key. Greetings on the way in, smiles, and good food would have made my experience better. Instead, I received good food with no greeting, smile, or friendly customer service.
