Lovely place, quiet ambience, careful service, it all in the details, warm towels, white tablecloths, generous portions orchids decorating the plate. We will be back regularly!

One of the best meals I've had. Period.Thai opal gives an elegant feel while providing excellent service. A great spot for a date night. The Thai Iced Tea and Spicy Peanut plate were delicious. Their fried rice is at the top of my list now. Overall, a wonderful experience. I didn't take enough pictures, but the peanut sauce accompanying these Shrimp Summer Rolls was delicious. Compliments to the chef.

Thai Opal used to be my go-to place for scrumptious Thai food. Unfortunately, I had not been there in awhile, so I stopped in for lunch last week. First of all, I was amazed to see that I was the ONLY soul in the place at 12:00 noon. During the entire time I was there, maybe two people came in to pick up to-go orders. No other diners came in.Now.....the food was every bit as delicious as it had ever been. I got the sauteed edamame app and the yellow curry and both were divine. The service was adequate.Herein I think lies the problem: they used to have a lunch menu with competitive prices and it had a good variety of dishes to choose from, most accompanied by soup and/or egg roll. I asked the server if they still had a lunch menu and he said no. The prices I thought were pretty high for a lunch meal, and this could be why there is no one there at lunch.I hope they read this review and take my suggestion of reinstating their lunch menu with appropriate prices. It's just too good of a restaurant to have no lunch traffic!!

My brother wanted Thai food and the best food to get was in Dallas. Inside was pretty nice, but Valentines Day was over, but they still had their decor which I did not mind. The other thing is, it does have a terrible smell, not so sure it is the chemicals they cleaned, it is hard to describe it however. I ordered the duck curry. The food came in at a good reasonable time. The food was a little spicy, but it was overall good and would not mind coming here again. But there was nothing to special on the menu I would want to come back as it is just a typical Thai restaurant.

Lovely family owned business filled with charm. The food is consistently wonderful filled with excellent flavor. We consistently order the appetizer chicken satay with peanut sauce that is spectacular followed by any of the main dishes that are always favorable and freshly made to order. Thank you Thai Opel and we look forward to dinner with you again in the very near future!

A lovely mom and pop Thai shop. My husband had the beef fried rice and you could tell it was cooked fresh even though it came out fast. I had the beef noodle soup and it was the most flavorful broth I've had in a long time, tasting 3x the price. The service was wonderful and the decor reminded me of visiting grandma. Sweet and delightful.

We were a reserved party of 10 and when we arrived everything was in perfect order. The warm hand cloths are a kind start to the dining experience in this quiet, calm restaurant. We ordered corn patties for the table, which came hot and delicious. Each guest ordered a different dish and each claimed it to be superb. The wait staff is friendly and very accommodating and at the end of the meal, the chat with the owner made the entire experience personal welcoming. We live five minutes from Thai Opal and it will remain one of our favorite dining spots.

Had dinner here with my husband on a whim. Walked in around 5:45 and had the place to ourselves. Immediately greeted with warm hand towels. We were sat at a booth which was very comfortable. The ambiance was really cute, easily a date night spot. Started with cups of Tom Yum soup, spice level 4 (out of 5). The soup was delicious but 4 was no joke so I went a little slower on mine. Split chicken satay, the chicken wasn't as marinated as I've had elsewhere but the peanut dipping sauce was like legit peanut butter almost which we loved and came with another peanut dipping choice that was equally as good. 4 skewers so easy to share between two! By now a few other tables had come in which was nice to see, I already at this point thought the place deserved to be busier. It's just a cute cozy spot and we felt comfortable taking our time through some apps before ordering entrees. I ordered the Thai Opal Glass Noodle Curry, I love glass noodles and it was cooked well. I didn't taste curry as much as I'm familiar with but I was happy it was its own unique flavor. The curry to it wasn't a sauce like my husband was expecting. He ordered the Spicy Basil Noodle/Pad Kee Mao. His was very very good and saucier than mine. We only had water with our meals which came without ice which was preferable to me especially in the winter months! The service was excellent, we had three different people consistently checking on us but not in an obtrusive way. Did not use the restrooms so cannot comment on that. 2 cups of soup, 1 appetizer, 2 entrees was $62 This place is definitely worth checking out to anyone still reading and we'll likely be back.

I ordered the Chicken and shrimp pad see ew. The eggs and sauce tasted burned. The chicken was very dry and there was way too much sauce, possibly to try to cover the dry chicken. I also got the Thai tea and it was super bitter and not drinkable. I have dined in and ordered here many times before and never had this issue. This meal was very off-putting.
