I visit aunt Irene today, March 21, 2024 doing lunch hour with two of my coworkers who never been to Irene's so I've been telling them about it so they wanted to try it. We got there at 11 we checked the door and it was locked so we waited, almost 10 minutes. My coworker decided to call the number to find out if they was open and he was asked by Lady on the other line which one you are at we said we are at the one on Malcolm X in Dallas so the lady on the line had to call the restaurant to open the door when we got there they look like they didn't have anything ready they was running behind we placed our torder I had two different orders. She told me one was going to be 25 minutes and the other one was going to be 30 minutes and the same with my two coworkers, well we waited 25 minutes. My order came out but I never received the second order in 30 minutes. My coworker One received there's 25 minutes in the other Coworker was supposed to receive theirs in 30 minutes like me, but he never received his order and other customers came in after us got their order before us so I decided to go up to the window and ask about my 2nd order and that's when I was told by the young lady that my order number was misplaced so I had to wait another 15 to 20 minutes for my second order. I came all the way from Addison and my lunch break was already over with , I was not too pleased about that my coworker he went up to the window because he never received his order and he asked her hey I never received mine and she informed him you need to be patient. Well that didn't set right with my coworker because he said if I'm spending this type of money and customer service like this, he said I'll never come back , so when he did get his food, he ordered the pork chop lunch portion, he stated that the pork chop was overcooked. It was fried too hard to eat and I told him to place a review and let them know the error that his food was overcooked but he didn't want to do that. He said he just won't return back to aunt Irene's my other coworker she enjoyed her food. She got the same thing but hers was cooked correctly I believe since they was running behind we also asked about the dessert and the young lady stated that they was running late they should've been ready by 11 o'clock, knowing that's lunch time. unfortunately, my two coworkers will not be coming back ever. Customer service wasn't that great food was good to me, but we was there way too long over an almost 2 hours. We waited for our food due to them opening up late and not being ready that's not organized at all.

Looked at this place on TikTok. So I had to see what the hype was all about. Ordered the fish and shrimp & the all fried black box. The batter on the shrimp was overcooked! Fried lobster tasted like rubber! Went straight in the trash! Not sure because it was near closing or what the case may have been, but everything that glitters is not gold(.)

Disappointing!! We ordered a large seafood platter from the DeSoto location for the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, all of the seafood was overcooked and dry, particularly the shrimp and definitely the sausage.

As much I want to always support black owned business sometimes we have to be real with eachother. I'm sorry but Opening doors 30mins after you are supposed to be opened is really unacceptable. My cousin had to call the desoto location for them to call this one to tell them to open up. No greeting or anything as we first walked in, there were women with bonnets on and men with ski masks. Very unprofessional. A woman then proceeded to tell us "they aint got no food yet so she cant take our order for another 30min". We already drove a hour to get there so we waited. However the fried lobster, fried corn, and fries were delicious. The shrimps were a little salty and the chicken lacked flavor. The fried pork chop sandwich was a little chewy and lacked flavor as well. (Was also told they were out of bacon so it didn't come on the pork chop sandwhich like the original one). The other ppl In line said the desoto location was better so I would definitely be willing to give it a try.

Okay I will preface this by saying that my rating also factors in conveniency and service: - i got the black box and the wings/fried fish combo Black box: 9/10 flavor, but overall: 7/10 bc my shrimp was a little overcooked, and there's nothing special about the sausages. Their seasoning is truly cajun, so if you're expected a very wet garlic sauce, then this is not it. I wish all of the crab and shrimp had just a little more sauce, but they do provide butter on the side instead wings/fish combo: 5/10 We ordered the aunt irene special flavor for the wings and the hot lemon flavor for the fish. There was barely any seasoning on our wings, and almost too much on our fish (it got soggy really quick). The cheesey potatoes that come with it is good. Nothing super special Overall, for the hassle of driving over to south dallas, I probably won't return. There's 1 parking spot in front of the restaurant, and it took us an hour to get our food (even though they told us 20). Don't get me wrong, the flavor of the crab and shrimp was really good. I would probably say best cajun seafood i've had, but it's honestly too difficult to get their food (out of the way)

Desoto location. Ordered honey garlic wings. All i can say there was no garlic at all! Taste like fried wings absolutely zero seasoning other than being smothered in honey. Will never order that again.

The link basket is a big no. Links are cheap and seemed to be filled with a tripe filler. The old Good Luck link basket has fallen completely off and I was looking for a replacement. Rather than giving 4 links, I'd prefer the standard three links with a better quality link. These are cereal that you might as well put in a bowl and pour milk over. Even my grandson rejected it and he's like Mikey, he will eat everything. I had to beg my wife for some of her burger, which I did like. Not worth $16. Lastly, customers should have to hear the profanity from the back while standing there waiting.

I was at the location on Canal. I got take-out and it was average. It was not bad, it just not that memorable. If you are hungry, it will hit the spot. But there are better places to eat on Canal.

Aunt Irene's is my guilty pleasure. I spend my cheat days in fried food heaven with no worries in the world and Aunt Irene's always hits that spot. It's a very small place and usually has a line. I order ahead online then pick it up or I doordash it. Service is friendly. I've never had issues with my food. The food is WELL seasoned and flavorful. The crack wings are by far my favorite wings in Dallas. The wing box is a great value, takes me 2 days to finish the whole box by myself. Must try, but don't get addicted and eat it everyday!

THIS PLACE IS STRAIGHT UP SINFUL! I did not get a single picture of my food, because I was starving. I ordered enough of food for 4 people and ate in my car, so that didn't leave much room for picture taking. The area is a bit sketch, I won't lie. LOL. But I wouldn't say I felt unsafe. Ordering was a bit confusing, because everything is such fast pace and it doesn't make you feel comfortable asking questions looking like the amateur who doesn't know how to order. So, I kinda hung out by the window while trying to figure out what to order and finally someone gave me some direction. Whew! I placed my ordered and waited about 20 minutes to experience the magic. The food was nothing to play with. I ordered the fried corn, fried catfish, fried shrimp, crack cookies, and bread. When I tell you I put that food DOWN, I am not playing. Every single piece of everything was fried to perfection and seasoned with immense love. And then politely put me to sleep for 3 hours! My only complaint about this place is: 1) you can't dine in, 2) there was only canned soda for drinks. I'd assume a place like this would at least have some type of house made punch, 3) the cookies were a bit hard...and $10. And, 4) there wasn't many smaller portion options. I wanted fried shrimp too, but they only came in an order of 15. So guess what I did? Ordered AND ate 15. LMAO. But that was just plain greedy. I wish there would have been like a 5 piece option or something. Other than those few things, I 10/10 recommend eating here. It will be on my list every time I am in the area!

This place was pretty good. Had the catfish and fries also had the shrimp and crab plate. I will definitely come back.

Overall the food was a 6.8/10. It was good enough to eat and the meals seemed consistent but not anything that just WOW'd me. But the service was decent, food came out fast and its something that you could easily get to eat. The togo process is abnormal and If you are looking for some unordinary or spectacular taste I'd say keep looking.

Believe the hype y'all! Aunt Irene's is the best Cajun/creole food spot in Dallas. I've been here multiple times and have never been disappointed. EVERYTHING is so good!! The flavors are bold, soulful & unique. If you love flavor, then you'll love it here!!! Besides food, it seems always busy but there's never a long crazy wait and the hospitality is always great. What I also love about Aunt Irene's is how vast & diverse their menu is. There is so much to choose from, and all of it is good!!! You must try it for yourself, if it sparks your interest.

This spot has some of the best food I've had in DFW. I guarantee you won't be disappointed grabbing a bite from here. This spot is a lil stretch from my side town so I loaded up on a few options while there. I had the crab legs with shrimp fried pork chops with shrimps. Everything was super delicious and food was fresh. They have parking located in the lot on side of building all food is cooked to order so it's a little wait but wasn't super long. If you want something good head down to south Dallas and eat here.
