Most of their beer menu was unavailable. The imperial stout they brew has acetaldehyde; it is awful. The amber they brew is a bad IPA. Lights were flickering and they couldn't fix it or turn them off. Food was ok, but way too expensive for the small portions. The Mezze board description says olives, but it doesn't come with olives. Our waiter was good, host staff was a little slow and aloof. Overall, I don't know how this place is in business. Disappointing, not worth going.

Truly a spectacular spot. If I could give more stars to every category I would. The rustic aesthetic was consistent down to the toilet paper holders. The food was beautiful, unique, and delicious. Our waitress Kaitlyn was a delight and expertly juggled us and 4+ other tables while making it look easy. A must go spot for anyone visiting Denton.

The once decent vegetarian and vegan options at Barley & Board are now a thing of the past post-menu change. It was never my favorite place in town. But now that they’ve changed the menu, I don’t think I’ll ever be back. I have been vegetarian for nearly a decade. And I know the city and universities’ vegetarian and vegan options are a big draw for many. So it’s disappointing that the new Barley & Board menu seems to have totally neglected to consider any of us. Now, the only options on the menu without meat are a small grilled cheese with soup and a beat salad.Could I ask for something else without meat? Sure. But our waiter kindly informed me that there is no way in their system to reduce the price of an item. They can only do price add ons. When your pasta is $30 because it includes brisket and I’m asking for it without the brisket, I don’t want to pay full price. The majority of that price if going to come from the meat… So we paid for our drinks and left. The waiter said we were the second table that night to walk for the same reason. I didn’t want to cause a big stink. They were super kind and understanding. So for that, I’m appreciative. Please bring back the cavatappi, the risotto, the gnocchi that I once enjoyed. I’d like to come back one day and give y’all my money. But it’s obvious from the menu change that you aren’t interested in my business.

Where's Waldo?

I have been going to B&B since they opened, and last night was awesome. Lindsey (our server) was polite, paid attention to the details, and always had water and tea refills ready. Jacob (GM) came by and checked on us as well. Very friendly, and genuinely seemed to be concerned that the guests (saw him checking on others) had a great experience. We all shared portions of what we got:1. The Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup2. Chicken Pot Pie3. The Wagyu Sirloin (pic below)All were perfect! For dessert, we had the cookie board with milk. The ONLY 2 things I wish about B&B is:1. Bring back the Pork Tenderloin dish2. Allow for a big marshmallow to be added to the cookie of their choice and add chocolate (like the old oatmeal cookie)Thank you B&B for a great night!

I ate here with my husband and parents this evening. We are not from Texas and this was all of our first time at this restaurant. We asked for a table, not booth and we're seated upstairs which was very nice and a little quieter. We were all EXTREMELY happy with everything. The service was outstanding, the atmosphere was great, and the food was far better than we had hoped. We also had several cocktails and everyone was very impressed with what they ordered. The only minor complaint would be that my dad's burger was quite well done and they initially forgot the side of sauce, though that was quickly remedied. Would absolutely go back and would 100% recommend

My wife and I LOVED this place until the menu change. It is one of the only "up scale" options in the area and previously the menu was well crafted with excellent options that fulfilled their niche in the restaurant scene. Now, since the menu change, this has become a lunch spot. Over half of the entrees are sandwiches, with the remaining being a pasta, a steak, and a salmon. The "boards" went from top notch charcuterie selections to a sort of weird, and extremely expensive, appetizer platter that leaves much for the wanting. The beer menu has been cut by over 50% and the wine menu tastes about the same as the Kroger selection. The remaining cocktails remind me of my early 20's with far too much syrup and not enough liquor. Bring back the old menu please so we can save this Denton staple!!! P.S. The service remains absolutely excellent and the addition of the live piano is classic. Hope the management takes note of this review and the other recent reviews that seem to be expressing the same qualms!

Their food is good, but the prices suggest it would be better. Their old menu was vastly superior to what they offer now. Their beer list is very disappointing. Solid old fashioned.

Great place to enjoy classy date night or work party. Ryan made the night with great suggestions, and his pleasant attitude was the icing on the cake. Chicken sandwich was a knock out.

Just not worth the money... dissapointing. My $21 whiskey sour was served in a very teeny tiny wine glass. We shared 2 boards with the grain meat stick thing & left hungry. Bill was over $110 before tip. Service was good. For this kind of money we wished we walked over to 940 Kitchen instead. At least I can get a decent sized drink there. Maybe this place is just too pretentious for us.
