Excellent food and super friendly service. The pies are fantastic. Worth the drive up from DFW

This is an adorable 50s style diner. The food was home cooked fresh. Our waitress, Melissa was so warm and friendly and anticipated all of our needs. I was hesitant to order the Frito Pie because I can easily make that at home, but I had no regrets. It was homemade chili that made a difference. Also it was a giant portion. I will definitely be back.

The wait staff was very friendly and helpful and quick. The food was good overall, though it was drowned in butter. The portions were large. I had the stuffed hashed browns, which were awesome, and took three quarters of it home (although, see below, I was afraid they were going to charge me a dollar for the to-go box).We also ordered pies. My mom and I each got two pies and wanted to halve and share them. The waitstaff, again, was super friendly and helpful, but then the owner/manager came over to tell us he can't cut the pies for us. Then he said he could cut them and transfer half of each, but he would charge us by the slice instead of for the whole pie. (What?) We said we would just cut them ourselves if he could provide a couple of extra boxes. He said sure, but to-go containers are $1 each. (What?) We ended up taking them home to cut up ourselves. The pies themselves were thick, heavy, and amazingly delicious. They're the real deal. Then we checked out, and he charged me $35 instead of the $30 he quoted me via email. The restaurant itself wasn't impressive. The booth seats were coated in some sort of waxy black stuff that came off on my hands and could not be brushed off. I had to wash my hands in the bathroom. The décor was just pictures of old-time movie stars and singers and old cars in the bathroom. It's the kind of thing that's fun for the Cracker Barrel crowd, but it's awfully boring atmosphere for anyone born after 1975.The place claims to be an old style diner, but isn't set up or decorated like an old style diner, it's just an excuse for an outdated menu. The furniture is old, the décor is old, and the owner's attitude is very old-fashioned. Although the food was tasty, there are many other better restaurants in Denton, and we won't be returning. Except to buy a pie now and then. The pie was the best part of the experience, except for the ridiculous inconvenience about splitting them up.

I came here based off reviews. My experience was nothing like the majority of these reviews. First, it took forever for the server to get us drinks or to order an app. When we did order the app and it arrived he attempted to walk off again without taking the food order. We ordered mozzarella sticks and they were awful. I'm sure they could have been great but either they were cooked in a low temp grease or the cook just didn't know how long to cook them. They literally crumbled apart they were barely even warm. No hot cheesy pull so disappointing and $5 for that. Sonic is cheaper and actually cooks them til hot. The food comes just as fast as the app did which is also a bummer because they serve these fat crinkle fries with the meal and with the speed we received the food you can guess they were just as cool and barely warm as the mozzarella sticks. I couldn't eat them. The club sandwich was very sad. One thin slice of processed Turkey that looked like bits of Turkey and filler glued together. The sandwich was mostly the hard white heal from the iceberg lettuce. Getting ready to pay was another setback. They are one of those few dinosaur restaurants left on earth that charge you to pay for your food. That's so off putting it's reason alone to not come back.

Great food and service! Pancakes were literally the size of a wall clock and were fluffy and delicious. We'll definitely be back.

Awesome food, amazing owners. Makes you feel like you're in a small town diner. And the coffee is killer.

Rude management, bad service. Not worth it at all. There are plenty of other great choices in the area.

Great food and friendly service, also they have giant pancakes

Food was good. Largest pancakes i have ever seen, and the coffee cups were generous. I don't think I will go back however. They add 3.25% for credit cards, but not for debit or cash. My card was a debit card but i wasn't asked and immediately charged the fee for credit.

Great place for Mother's Day breakfast with my wife. First time here, we're in town for my daughter's TWU graduation. Love the retro diner vibe and the food and service was excellent. Super friendly staff, good bargain, would definitely return.

Friendly waitress and owners. Temperature checks and masks enforced. The stuffed hash browns on the breakfast menu was delicious and a huge serving! Also purchased their new t-shirt.
