“We have visited Tortillería San Luis 3 times in the past several weeks. The staff here are super friendly and helpful. The first time in the shop we bought flour tortillas that you cook at home. They are excellent. The clerk explained on our first visit that on the weekends they prepare barbacoa and menudo. They serve different dishes every day for lunch but the weekends are special. On our second visit we sampled the barbacoa and purchased half pound of it. On the way out of the store the clerk gave us a container of menudo to try at home. We also bought some green sauce but they had given us a red and a green sauce in the bag with the barbacoa. The green sauce is spicy but is the best I have tasted in the valley so far! I am addicted!Today we returned and bought more barbacoa and some carnitas. More flour tortillas and more green sauce. I immediately tasted the carnitas when I got home and it is soooo delicious. We chatted at length with the clerk learning he is the owner. He is so friendly and very professional. We are just learning to speak Spanish and he was very encouraging. All of the products they sell are from Mexico and all their prepared foods are authentic recipes. We will be regulars at this little shop.”

“This is the first time I went to Mambo and the food didn't disappoint. I had the number 7 grilled octopus in mambo sauce with shrimp fried rice and the empanada appetizer. Our server Adri gave us excellent service. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us recommendations like the grilled octopus with mambo sauce. She even helped us take a family photo and went above and beyond. I would definitely come back here. I really recommend the food I mentioned.”

Feels like you are stepping into a random roadside mom and pop dinner.All that being said I had already made up my mind that I wasn't going to like it.That was until I took my first bite of their fried catfish. WOW what an impressive job of frying with great flavor and still maintaining a flaky texture. The shrimp was no less impressive!!The sides were mediocre but the fish and shrimp stole the show. Pulled pork very moist with a nice spicy-sweet rub. Sausage was slightly spicy with a little cheese. The spaghetti has a balanced poblano sauce, not-too spicy and the beans have a nice SouTex flavor.Generous portions were more than enough for this hungry traveler. The staff were happy to answer questions and rightfully proud of their offerings.Nice new dining room to enjoy your meal.Definitely worth the portage…You’ll be full to the gunnels and ready to drift with the current when you’re done.”

“This place was good. I got their pozole, which was great. We also tried the Chipotle chicken with mushrooms, the chile relleno, the enchiladas suizas, and the poblano pasta with chicken. We also had the nutella and cajeta croissants and Conchas for dessert. Honestly, everything was yummy, and the service was great. The water comes in a glass bottle that was good too but the strawberry lemonade was delicious”
