OMG, I am so glad the burger place in Donna was closed when we got there. If it wasn't I would not have found this place. I am a CFS "snob". I like more meat less crust. Some places advertise and show the largest CFS you have ever seen. But alas, it is mostly crust. This place serves about a ¾" steak with minimal crust. It came out piping hot along with the home cut fries. Both were hot, when i took my last bite(yes I tend to eat faster than the average bear) ? The size of the steak was perfect for me, I compare it to the circumference of a regular sized waffle. If I ever get to come back to the RGV, I will be back to eat at Haley's

Hubby ordered chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. I seconded that. This is what we got. The fries were excellent, but not mashed taters. Steak is quite peppered. It wasn't horrible by any means, thick meat, tender. I'm a gravy fiend, so it was good but not great.

Food is good, served fresh and hot. Service was also very good. The only issue is the breading on the chicken fry and fish. It is very peppery! Had to scrape it off to be able to eat the meal. Burgers are phenomenal. Parking is a big issue, very limited.

I stopped by on a Sunday after church. I had heard a lot of good things about this little place and wanted to try it for myself. I was not disappointed. I had the fried fish and shrimp plate and it was really really good. Everything was fresh and very tasty and the service was really good as well. I look forward to stopping by again someday soon! We need to support these small mom and pop kind of restaurants and businesses. Otherwise there may not be any more successful small businesses, only big corporations.

Small family-run place, breakfasts are very good. I've been there for lunch, at first was disappointed in their cheeseburger (bland, nothing special). Went back for a tenderloin and it won me over!! Not much ambiance, kinda like a diner, but I like to support small business. Open for dinner as well. Friendly service, reasonable prices. Will certainly go back to try other items on the menu!
