I love the food just was awkward with a new employee. It’s rare I can get take out with this economy but she did a good job but seemed offended that I didn’t tip. Other than that loved the place sorry for not tipping.

Based on previous reviews I decided to have dinner here as it was highly recommended for food and service. The man who helped me clearly hates his job and didn’t want to be there. When I b asked about what fish was fresh he said all of them which they clearly were not. I asked about the sauces and was told it’s a sauce when I asked what the ingredients were. I finished creating my bowl paid and left. I just got to my hotel and this is the worst poke bowl I’ve ever had. The fish is not fresh, there is no sauce, and the vegetables weren’t crunchy. Very disappointing definitely would not recommend!

When I am looking for a poke bowl I am expecting quality raw fish. I used to order a bunch of poke bowls in the past but recently the quality of the salmon has changed COMPLETELY. The color, texture, and taste is horrible and now they make you pay 50 cents more for each scoop if you choose salmon. I would definitely pay more, but for the extra cost and for what I got is extremely disappointing. If you want good poke I would go for Pokeworks at least their fish is much more fresh tasting. Very disappointed since I enjoy the extra ingredients you have to choose from Makai, but I much prefer to enjoy what I payed for.

My favorite poke in the McAllen area. Been coming for years and I love to mix it up with the variety of proteins, toppings, and sauces. The house sauce is awesome. ?? Just a heads up though, there's been an older lady working lately and she ALWAYS under serves the base AND protein. I usually have to get double servings of the protein just to get anywhere close to what the other staff give.

Average poke place. Same ingredient list almost all offer. Same decor too. Not sure why so many goes with minimum decorations high top tables and stools. I didnt want to think so I picked one of their suggested bowls. Cannot remember what it was called, but the lady said it was their most popular. It was decent, but way too much cream cheese. I wasn’t paying attention and stirred the bowl. Couldn’t take it out after doing that. Got a Topo Chico to wash it down. Not a bad place if you are in the area.
