First time at this little gem. I bought two soups:Pozole BlancoCaldo De Resand Chicharrón Tacos on flour tortilla Most authentic food. The portions are huge, the quality is fresh and homemade. What brought me in was the enthusiasm the person on the phone when I called and confirmed if they had Pozole Blanco...I had to drive the distance to come try it. My new go to for amazing food and soups!!Thank you for a delicious meal!!!!

Today I headed to Lake Bluff to participate in the Yelp Gives Back event at Bernie's Books and needed a place to grab something to eat beforehand, and Doña Paty's was pretty close by. I'm so glad I popped in for a late lunch, it was great. They have about 10 tables total, so it's pretty small, but of course you can do carry out (someone arrived at the same time as me and chose this option). It also looks like they place a couple of tables outside in al fresco weather. The chips and salsa are great. I may be wrong but it looks like they make the chips in house but I could be wrong. More importantly they have a green salsa that is delicious, with a good spice level that builds nicely. I almost asked them if I could buy some of it to take home with me--I talked myself out of doing so twice, only because I didn't have tortilla chips at home, then probably would have forgotten to get some, it would have been a whole thing. Just know that the salsa is good and I wanted more!I decided to go with fajitas instead of chilaquiles because it's been a very long time since I've had them... and they were so good. Standard in that they had the typical ingredients of chicken, peppers (red, green, yellow), onions, with rice and beans accompanying it. They were cooked really well and when I ran out of tortillas (do I underfill them? Are we purposely given too few tortilla shells? I don't know) I ate the rest of the veggies and chicken which I've not done before. It was too good for it to go to waste. There are a few parking spaces in the little shopping strip but no street parking since it's along Sheridan Road. I don't get up to Highwood often--I think I've driven through here maybe a handful of times in the 15 years I've lived in Chicago--so I don't know when I'll ever be back. However, I would come back to dine at Doña Paty's if I was up in the area.

first time to try dona paty's and loved the lunch!ordered a vegetarian burrito (was made to order and was delicious!) with a topo chico.my SO had the steak fajitas and the sides (rice/beans) and the tortillas with the fajitas were fantastic! the fajitas arrived sizzling to the table and smelled amazing. service was outstanding and the restaurant is clean, bright and cheerful. definitely will return!

Yes! This place is legit fantastic. Their cemitas sandwiches alone would be worth the trip to this delicious spot to eat. Owners are wonderful and all the ingredients were fresh. If you live in the city you would take the metra to fort Sheridan. You can walk here from that stop. Buy a 50 dollar bag worth of these sandwiches so you can freeze them until your next trip up. If you live in the north shore and have not eaten from here yet. Treat yourself! Place is great!!

Spectacular, authentic food and experience! Hands down the best homemade guacamole, horchata and chicken fajitas we've yet to have in Highwood. The food is SO fresh, so perfectly seasoned, such beautiful ingredients! We tried for the first time a Cemita YUM! A luscious crusty bread sandwich overflowing with layers of fresh avocado, marinated pork steak, Oaxaca cheese and chilies. Literally unreal! And the owner and her family!! Dona Paty was a gem! Her son Oscar who helped us could not have been more lovely and fun! We told Dona Paty this is our new go-to restaurant!! A beautiful, joyous place and experience!! Their menu is luscious, and we can't wait to try it all!!!

Great Mexican food in a cozy little spot of the main drag. Tacos are wonderful. Green Chile sauce out of this world.
