If you are not paying attention, it's easy to miss this little gem. Still, we saw a steady stream of customers while we were there. The horchata was spot-on, and I enjoyed the caldo de pollo. My brother even wanted seconds of the tamales. Service was welcoming and attentive, and we appreciated the variety of options for any appetite.
Decided to try this Mexican buffet because I'd heard good things about it and it did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was very cozy, it's not a huge place but it's well set up. The food was delicious and fresh, I will definitely recommend this place to everyone I know and the price was decent. Overall a great experience so come down to "el refran" if you love authentic Mexican food.

Well let start by saying this is the best kept secret in Farmers Branch. We found this restaurant by mistake and it was the best mistake we ever made in food choice. When we walked in we were greeted with a smile as if you were coming into someone home.
