Called in a pick up "Lunch" order and was got by the restaurant. *Beware* Was told only a dinner offering of my order was on the menu, flat lie, and charged me $4 more. Lesson learned - 1st time in this city, and this restaurant which is my last. Look, if you need to make money by lying to customers be ready for reviews like this. Food was meh, canned mushrooms were used...

I hate to write a negative review and I wasn’t going to. I hope that instead of hurting they step their game up.I was in the area and googled this place and it had decent reviews. I don’t know how! The staff was very friendly and welcoming so I really appreciate that. The food on the other hand was absolutely disgusting!!!! Threw away about 80% of it. The rice was musty as someone stated and the general Tso chicken was barely edible. As soon as I opened the plate I noticed about only 5 general tso peices. They were mushy and weird colored. The egg roll was bland but I ate it since I was starving. The crab ragoons had a weird flavor and texture. I don’t understand what’s going on but hopefully they get it together.I spent $18 on this and honestly very upset with myself. Worst Chinese food I’ve ever had.

Food portions were just a little under what you could comfortably eat. Presentation is done a little differently here than what I'm used to. For example, my sweet and sour pork came as little bite-sized bits sitting on top of a small layer of sweet and sour sauce. So small was the sauce that I think it should've been used to cover only 2 of the pieces of pork. And I received about 8 pieces. Fried rice was regular white rice lightly fried. No soy sauce, vegetables, or egg was in the rice. Egg soup was ok. Could've been a little better. Overall, I think it was a good visit. I'm not sure I will go out of my way to return. But I will come if someone offers. I won't reject the idea. I must admit, I was the only one in my party. They do have meals for 2 and up. I did see from a distance that those meals looked plentiful for the number of people eating. And those people assisted to be enjoying their meals. I think they're using lower quality ingredients to cut costs. But they still want to give you good portions. In today's world of high costs. I can't say I blame them.

I have ordered several times for delivery. Always fast and accurate. My family enjoys the ribs and shrimp fried rice but other items are good.

I've been going to this place for nearly 30 years, and it's the same as it was when I was a kid. The food is awesome and the staff friendly. It brings me comfort, that when so much changes in the world, Haltom Chinese remains the same.

I want to know who this place paid to give such positive reviews because the food we received wasn't even worthy of the 1 star this review is giving.1) Nothing had flavor. Well not nothing... Just the main ingredients. The chicken in the cashew chicken had zero flavor...not even chicken flavor. The canned mushrooms added were gross, next to the obnoxious amount of bitter celery in there. The sauce tasted like straight hoisin. The General's Tso's sauce was cooked too long and burnt both in taste and in visuals. The egg roll was mealy and oily yet shockingly no flavor. Smothered in the sauces was the only way to eat it but after 2 bites I was like "why bother? The fried rice tasted "musty." The lo mein had NO flavor but hoisin. And again with the gross canned button mushrooms. Yikes.2) The soups. I was hoping the wonton soup was going to be decent. But as soon as I saw the brown water, I knew. Why was it dark brown?!?!?! Then the actual wontons were almost all wrapper. Rename that to wonton wrapper soup to be accurate. So disgusting. Thank goodness they barely gave me any in the large we ordered. The small egg drop soup was the worst. Zero salt and rancid tasting. Did they use the cleaning water as the soup base? This place is the worst Chinese food I've had. The people praising this place are why there are trust issues in the world.

Its not surprise that this place has lasted for 40 years. ItFriendly, fast service. Fresh , well prepared food. The vegetables were crisp. The shrimp were impeccably fresh and not over cooked. Prices were very reasonable. A rare example of a very good Chinese restaurant in North Texas. Definitely coming back.
