Well, I just tried calling the number listed above and it was a recording saying the number is no longer in service. Weird, since their website is still up. I don't know if they're open or not, I did sort by newest review, unfortunately that review says it's permanently closed, however I don't know if that is from personal experience or if it was a Google search that could be wrong. I saw several similar for a restaurant I reviewed in another city that IS open, in a new location, yet several comments for THAT establishment stated that the restaurant was gone. Just wanted to share that with you.

Loved this place since it first opened in the stockyards. Grady is a great chef and his place was a go to for me while in the stockyards. They have had the lights on but the place has been closed since September. I don't expect them to reopen....sad.

The chicken fried steak and green chili cheese grits are to die for!!! The coffee is great, and the service is stellar. We are excited to return when they reopen.

Finally made it out to Horshoe Hill and geeeeze the CFS are huge!. We got the El Jefe which is 4 different steaks and then a house salad and the corn which I didn't get a pic of was delicious! Mashed potatoes and 7 layer dip appetizer were really good also

Arrived for late dinner and seated immediately. Cool, relaxed vibe with lots of taxidermy around to keep you company. Ordered the Lawsuit dip and the short rib tostadas. Both were so flavorful and good. The dip came out quickly and was warm and melty. The tostadas had a wonderful sauce that I kept going back for.At the time we went they were waiting for liquor license so no alcohol offering, but BYOB was allowed. Manager said they expect to get license soon. Didn’t miss the alcohol though. The food was that yummy.

My husband and I had a day a lovely day date here. There's quite a bit of construction outside, so you'll need to park down the street, but this is normal for the Stockyards. We walked in and were immediately greeted by smiling faces. They sat us down and our server immediately came with water for us. If you've ever been to Texas in the summer time, you'd appreciate it. We ordered the deviled eggs and the pork tostadas to start with. The deviled eggs were divine. My husband does not normally enjoy them, but was blown away and wished we would have ordered 12 instead. The tostadas are amazing as well. They are perfectly crispy and have great flavor from the ancho sauce. My husband and I split them El Jefe. I was so happy with this decision. First of all, thank you to the chef for salting the chicken fried steak after frying it. They use a large grind sea salt and I could see it dusted on the plate. The breading on the chicken fried steak withstands being cut with the fork and knife. The enchilada was delicious! I loved the ancho sauce. My husband's favorite part was the Chile Relleno paired with the chicken fried steak. The mashed potatoes were superb! I'm not normally a fan of the rustic mashed potatoes (lumpy) but these were delicious. Service was amazing here. We had servers coming to our table to refill water and check in on us multiple times. They did not seem short staffed or overwhelmed at all, which is such a blessing for them in the midst of the world. Thank you for a delicious meal.

Came to Horseshoe Hill to try my first Country Fried Steak. I didn't have much to compare it with, so I took some time before writing this review. The Country Fried Steak from Horseshoe Hill is top notch. I got mine the Vaquero Way, and it did not disappoint. The seasoning was flavorful, peppery and not too salty, and the portion size was perfect. The combination of flavors was absolutely incredible. The sweetness of the enchiladas complimented the steak perfectly. On the downside, prices are a little steep for a Country Fried Steak. Maybe this should be expected for the quality, but I thought my meat was a little chewy. Regardless, this is a nice spot, and I will definitely be visiting them again!

It was a nice place and the service was great. I ordered the famous chicken fried steak and it looked huge. But when I cut into it, I found it had very little meat. It was mostly bread. Tasted good just a little disappointed.
