Stopped here for some Texas barbecue as we were passing through. My go-to-mail is the barbecue brisket. Brisket had decent flavor but was a bit dry. Not sure what was happening, but our waitress seemed overwhelmed even though there were not very many people in the restaurant. Took a long time to place our order in a long time to get our food. Kind of soured the experience of it after a long day of travel. Worth checking out for yourself and making your own decision. Maybe they were just having an off night?

I'm visiting from Ohio and loved this place. Quality and quantity for the price are excellent. The outside venue was enjoyable with music. Inside had great seating also.

We love Shady Oak Barbeque & Grill. We frequently eat there when we visit Fort Work. The food is always very good. We particularly love chopped beef sandwiches or the potato and sandwich special. The atmosphere is conducive to families and the service has always been very good.

Their brisket was flavorless and fatty. I was very disappointed. The bread was great, I loved their ribs, and their sausage. The brisket was hella disappointing though. I'd suggest going elsewhere if you want good smoked brisket. Three meat platter was 27 bucks and not worth the price, imo

Most of the food was good but we were surprised to find their mac and cheese is cold? One person sent it back and asked for it warm. When it came back the second time it was again cold. We can only surmise that it's intentionally cold. Our waitress was fine but apparently was put into a tough position because it appeared the kitchen was overwhelmed. We may continue to go there on Thursdays instead of Saturdays.

Theres a Trash Can option, middle of the menu, 105$ for a bunch of meat, sides, and corncobs. Easily feed all 5 of the adults we had. Highly suggest swapping out of of the coleslaw with thier mash potatoes because they are very well seasoned.Oh also the bread they give you is really soft and tasty!

Traveling thru Fort Worth and decided to have some bbq, we are so glad we stopped here! Service was excellent and food was delicious! Fresh hot bread was a treat while we waited for our food. Our grub consisted of Baby back ribs with brisket and sausage, beverages served in an ice cold mug did not disappoint we will definitely come back!
The booth wasn't near the table and I had to push it back into place, the seat was wet and the table was sticky. I asked for hot water and lemon to drink and the waitress told me they didn't have hot water. ??♀️ She was definitely tired. We didn't stick around after that and went down the road to a different restaurant. Maybe they were just having an off night. ??♀️

Yummy food, but not worth the price without more CRAFT beer selections. With more craft beer selections it would feel just like being in Austin, TX and I would go again.

Bread is awesome. St. Louis ribs were great (slightly better than baby back). Veggies were OK, corn is ok. Turkey is good. Chips and queso is good.

We were celebrating my mother-in-law's birthday ?.We were not impressed at all by the food and service received.Started off with no waitress. One of the other waitresses saw us waiting and told us that they were waiting for our waitress to arrive. She also let us know that all the ribs were done for the night. Why she couldn't have just waited on us, no idea. So no one thought to take our order until she got there. So we just got to wait at the table. Then, a couple of food items we tried to order they didn't have in stock.. no chicken.. no mashpotatoes. The excuse given was, " It was a really busy day for us." I don't doubt that, but it wasn't busy while we were there. The bread came out first. It was served in a bag and was hot. That was great, except no knife was provided to cut it. So we had to try to rip it until the waitress came back & we brought it to her attention that we needed one. Food was served on huge plates with barely any food on them. One of the combo plates that was supposed to have corn was missing from the plate. No attention to detail. They tried to make it right by giving us blackberry & peach cobbler. That was a very nice gesture and much appreciated, but it was nothing to write home about. I'm sure this place is great but it wasn't for us. We won't be back.
