We could not leave Texas without stopping at a real Texan bbq place for some ribs and brisket. If you are looking for white table clothes and fancy silverware - this aint the place. If you are looking for some live country music, smoking ribs and a good time - then come here.Seating is mostly outside - some indoor available with a pool table.. 2 bars. Riverwalk… tables… benches… good time.We (10 of us) all had various dishes - noone was disappointed.

2024 update - fun place to visit with great views of the river. Better than average service, and the food is great with tons of flavor and fun little twists on your normal Texas BBQ.Try the potato crispers for a starter, they're awesome. Had the red fish which was awesome. Decent beer selection too with a lot of local beers. Also they are dog friendly.

First time here, super busy but the wait was less than the 45 minutes they told me. Well worth the wait, we grabbed a drink before we were seated outside. The atmosphere was awesome, enjoyed some live music before and after we were seated. The food was very good, lots of drinks choices. Definitely will come back, very enjoyable experience.Parking: Valet was perfect for us, spent more time visiting and enjoying the place rather than finding a parking spot.

Took forever to get waited on but overall this place was cool and I guess it's dog friendly because people had all their dogs in there which I thought was kind of cool too

Big dopey bartender with high pitched voice sucked. He was working the main bar at 5:05pm on Sunday 4/21. CLUELESS! Ignored everyone at the bar.

Came with a group of 4. The ambiance was nice and I liked the water view I saw online. Based of google and Yelp ratings this seemed to be a solid choice and thought it would be a good place to come to with my friends. For the highlights of the experience here: the Nachos with Brisket were really good. My meal was the 1/2 pork rib slab and that was pretty good. The elote was also pretty good. However, the rest of my party didn't enjoy their food. The broccolini tasted off for some reason possibly freezer burned , couldn't taste lemon on it. Just burnt garlic. Also ordered was a burger. The bacon on there was all fatty and no flavor. The stuffed peppers dish was so tiny it was unbelievable. And the fried chicken sandwich also lacked flavor. while the Lamb brisket was tasty the beef brisket tasted unseasoned almost like it been boiled? Worst thing though the waitress also was really inattentive. She seemed to be having an off day. Based on this experience probably won't be back again.

Get the Brisket! You will not be disappointed with the super smokey favor along with the juicy deliciousness of the (leaner) meat. Great atmosphere along the Trinity River. I love the open air chill vibe that is great for families and kids as well!

I’ve eaten at the woodshed smokehouse many times and the food is always not just good but exciting the taste of flavors. They just jump out at you the atmosphere along the Trinity river is outstanding. Services is always exceptional. as a visit, I took a friend along just so happened that day they had rabbit and he’s an old country boy and had not had rabbit in years and he said this brought back memories that brought tears to him that it was so good. I highly recommend you’ll never get a no matter what you order.Vegetarian options: Lots of different veggies.Parking: Could use more parking

Wood should smokehouse is a great place to eat. Mostly outside seating right by the river is very nice. We really liked. Crispy brussels sprouts were excellent as well as the pork, green chili, smoked cheddar, and apple flatbread. We did not like the thick cut, bacon pinch bun, it was more like a bunch of fat with a very thin layer of pork on top similar to pork belly. The sauce Came with it was too hot. The Mexican corn elotes very good either.

Updating my review yet again to reflect the sharp decline in quality we have noticed with each subsequent visit. I came in yesterday with a group of 8 people for brunch and service was terrible despite only 1/3 of tables being occupied. After waiting 45 minutes, we finally ordered our food. 40 minutes after that, our waiter came by to let us know that one of the dishes we had ordered was not available - at this point we had been at the restaurant for an hour and a half. Why did it take 40 minutes for him to realize that something we had ordered was unavailable?? We asked if our food could come in to-go boxes because most of us had afternoon plans and had not planned on being there for two and a half hours. By the time our food arrived in to-go boxes, we had been seated for almost two full hours. Our waiter never once apologized or gave any explanation as to why service was so slow. We were not looking for a free meal or anything special - just a simple, "So sorry guys, we are short staffed today on waiters," or "Kitchen is understaffed, so sorry for the delay," to make us sympathetic. Instead, he didn't say a word to us and would not make eye-contact for the rest of the meal (because I'm pretty sure he screwed up and didn't get our ticket in after we ordered and was embarrassed). I swore off Woodshed after my last visit and only came back because someone else planned this brunch. But I am so disappointed because Woodshed used to be a Fort Worth favorite of ours and now it has been officially demoted and we will not be coming back again.
