I live 40mins away but I come here almost every weekend because how much I like the donuts. I recommend to go to their website and do preorders because they sell out during weekends. The donuts are not tooth aching sweet and has contrast in flavors compared to other donuts shops. I could of eat a half dozen of these donuts and still feel great compared to eating 2 from others. During March rotation was blueberry goat cheese 4/5 and figs and pistachio 3/5 I never had goat cheese so was hesitant, but glad I tried it because it was great. Donut was fluffy, blueberry compote was sweet, and goat cheese was tangy. Their tiramisu and creme brûlée are my go to every time I stop by. The tiramisu is my favorite, nice coffee flavor with mascarpone filling is such an great flavor contrast. The creme brûlée custard is not too sweet and the sugar brûlée adds a nice crunch to the donut. The Neapolitan was okay 2/5 it was made well, I just don't prefer it.

What a lovely little place that offers such great service, wonderful coffee, and delicious doughnuts! We stopped in before the eclipse madness and took our goodies home. The crème brûlée doughnut, apple fritter, pistachio matcha, and fig mascarpone were all fantastic!! If I lived in Dallas I would be fatter than already am since I would stop here at least weekly. My dad got an espresso, daughter got an iced golden lavender latte, and I got an iced caramel macchiato—all excellent.

Donuts tasted day old and they were expensive ($5.50 each). Staff was very nice, owner could have been more friendly.

They have tranny doughnuts! I cannot wait to get home and stuff some sexually fluid doughnuts in my mouth yum! Who needs maple bars when you can have tranny bars or doughnut holes when you can have a tranny hole instead. As an ally of the lgbtqlmnopqrstuvwxyz community and a person of color. I applaud the brave and bold bakers at Detour Doughnuts for going out of their way to let everyone know doughnuts are inclusive. Happy Easter oh wait president biden changed today to tranny day! Hooray!

This Donut shop is a bit "out of the way" for me, but I got a specialty donut from a friend who raved about their donuts. Owner-chef, Jinny Cho, has been favorably reviewed in "D" magazine. So, I decided to take a drive out there to check it out. I was not disappointed! I highly recommend Detour Donut . The shop is squeezed into a strip shopping mall, but that's to be expected since donut shops are usually small, and usually in strip shopping centers. There are a few ( about 6) small 2-seater tables inside, and a couple outside as well. The donut display case shows several options other than the usual sprinkles variety. For example, a Fig and Mascarpone donut. And there are different specialties weekly. I bought a fig and mascarpone donut and saw that there were a variety of gorgeous golden baked empanadas (beef, chicken and spinach). So I added a spinach version. The donut was excellent: the base donut itself had just the right texture -- not squishy, and not too firm. The creative topping was amazing. The empanada was likewise excellent with wonderful pastry filled with a spinach mixture. The parking lot is a bit limited, but donuts are "grab 'n go' so that's not an issue. If you are nearby give it a try; and if not, it's worth the drive.

I usually don't ever eat or crave donuts but Detour has the best donuts ever!! I love the creative flavors and how delicious each donut is. They have some limited flavors and they change seasonally but there hasn't been a flavor I tried that wasn't good!! Can't even pick a favorite because they're all so good. Highly recommend!

The best donut shop in DFW! These guys sure know how to make a gourmet donut. All the flavors are done very well. The cream and filling are not too sweet and have great flavor combinations.

SO good every single time! Best doughnuts in the area. Have ordered ahead many times for personal events and turned my whole family into Detour lovers. Have also brought to many customers and always get feedback about how much they loved them! Service is always great, very kind staff.

I finally broke down and got more than their delicious Honey & Lavender Latte. And oh my goodness, their doughnuts are “heavenly!” -In All honesty, it’s taken me as long as I have to try their doughnut because they looked a bit much for me (like they looked a bit overwhelming and I thought maybe they’d be too dense for my liking). But no, they are perfect in every way.• The artistry• The unique and complex craftsmanship of flavor• The perfect balance in texture• The balance between doughnut and icing, and in every other way truly a perfect doughnut! My personal faves:- Lavender & honey almond milk latte.- Crème brûlée doughnut- Fig + Mascarpone doughnut- Love cake doughnut?⭐️?

Not just another donut shop! Do not pass up this cozy little gem. The creativity in the donut flavors and decoration (super mario bros. donuts) is unique as well. The coffee selection is good as well. Today I ordered a Creme Pie donut, Fig and Marscapone donut and Brown Butter Cinnamon Roll with a hot Golden Lavender Latte. The Coconut Creme Pie donut was so light with a whipped filling that was not too sweet. I didn't really taste the lavender in my latte but it was still good and I'd order it again. They also have empanadas.... I need to try the Argentinian empanada on my next visit. They are open everyday until 1pm with extended hours until 3pm on Friday and Saturday.Parking: Parking is a bit tight. But there is additional parking in the back of the building.

They have some of the best doughnuts I ever had ! One of my favorites is like an eclair . I love the ones that are dark chocolate over it . They have great fillings. Passion fruit is one of them . I highly recommend this place .

Good donuts. But way overpriced. $39.00 for 12 donuts. 6 were minis and 12 holes. Nuts.

Unfortunately the donuts aren’t fresh like they used to be. And at $6 per donut the prices have gone up on already overpriced products. Every time I come in there is very little variety unlike what they post on social media. I come in for gourmet donuts and see nothing but basic chocolate and sprinkles. What a disappointment.
