One of my FAVORITE spots in Frisco! The food and service are always immaculate and I find myself recommending Nikugen to people looking for a solid spot for feel good Japanese food. If you’re not looking for ramen I HIGHLY recommend the Chicken Hibachi. That’s one of my go-to’s for the past year or so. 10/10 can’t stress enough how good this place is!

Ramen and Udon are filled with so much flavor! saw the nikugen akai udon recommended from a video, it's so worth it! Love creamy broths, and the spice is just enough where it doesn't take away from the flavors.Staff was super nice and on top of everything!

We no longer live in Frisco but live about an hour away. We still come here at least once a month! Black garlic ramen is just right.... with a pint of draft Sapporo. My lunch / dinner is set.Hey, Mr/Ms owner/managers -- It seems the portion is getting slightly smaller -- why is that!!! My black garlic ramen! Don't make it any smaller please!
Food was okay. We ordered gyu katsu, black garlic ramen and akai spicy udon. Both ramen and udon base had strong flavors. The beef katsu is not deep fried/fully cooked so you have to grill it by yourself. It’s kind of fun but we are not so good at it. We also ran out of “heat” before we got all beef grilled. Overall it was a good experience.

Ordered the spicy ramen, Nikugen Akai Udon with fried chicken, and spicy edamame. The spicy ramen was very good. It comes with pork, which was very tender. Personally, I think it was a bit overdone. The udon was also very good. The broth was thick and very tasty. The chicken was go good, I could have eaten just that and been satisfied. Both plates were spicy. Enough to make your nose run, but not so hot to ruin the meal. I've not eaten at many ramen or udon restaurants, but I will say these dishes have been my favorite so far. The edamama was good, too. The restaurant is very clean and has a nice atmosphere. The staff was friendly. Our waiter was very attentive as well. I'm definitely coming back.
