Have driven past this place for over a year and decided to check it out.4.5 out of 5 ⭐️Try the brisket enchiladas. Normally I’m not an enchilada person. But the bartender recommended and I had to go with his rec.Was pleasantly surprised. They come with some charro beans that made an okay dish a ? thumbs up.Overall it is not anything extraordinary. But at this price point and this part of town not bad at all.Bartender and Staff were friendly.Nowadays that is a huge deal and the reason for 5 stars.

If you live in the neighborhood and just want some good ole solid Mex, this is an option! It is not quite your run of the mill Tex Mex hole in the wall, but not overly fancy either! I'd say it is somewhere in between. Maybe we could call it "bougee" Mex. I went in there in the afternoon looking for a solid beverage and they were not doing the HH at the time but they do have it 7 days a week (!) from 3 to 7. Good frozen margaritas here if that is your thing and different sizes depending on your thirst quenching level. I was also feeling adventurous too and tried out the queso. The queso was just okay to me, however I did like the salsa and the chips were fresh and hot. I ended up dumping up some of the salsa into the queso and it actually made it taste a bit better, it just didn't have the zest I was looking for. I did see a few patrons go for the sizzling fajitas. I do have to say (almost) nothing that makes me happier more than the sounds of the fajita sizzle! So that must be their specialty. I plan on going back especially for the HH specials. The restaurant is large and spacious too so great option for a birthday, special event or fun lunch with a business client.

Great spot for lunch or dinner, the shrimp Enchiladas are very good. My family loves their chips and Salsa. Great service.

I really wanted to give this place 4 stars. I've had a lot of good enchiladas, and this place is up there with the best as far as food goes. Unfortunately, the waiter brought out one of the enchiladas with the ranchero instead of the queso sauce I ordered. We also arrived between lunch specials and happy hour, which is unfortunate because we couldn't benefit from either. They should consider offering a twilight special, especially considering how empty the place was.The dining area was fine. For some odd reason the waiter chose to seat us right in front of the restrooms even though we were the only ones there. Anyways, the place is good, just not amazing.

We went in a weekend & honestly cannot understand why the joint wasn't packed. We had quick & friendly service, the food came out promptly, and we were super-pleased. It's a locally owned business, and while there are definitely Tex-Amex snobs out there, our experience is that this is exactly what we need more of.Please give Papa Lopez a shot. It's in a great, easy-to-get-to location (and close to where the remainder of your errands probably are), so pop in and dine locally.

I went to this restaurant this past Saturday. I normally go to the Allen location decided to give this one a try since closer to homeBad idea the Server was decent but the Manager on duty was horrible Our food took forever I spent over $150 for this evening mostly on drinks but I will never return here to this location and will not recommend

This Papa Lopez location has a good aesthetic and vibe. It would probably be better on a busier night, but for dinner on a Sunday the kitchen was very slow, and the food wasn't really worth the wait. The staff was courteous, which helped make the experience more enjoyable.

First time & Last time ... not busy at all. That should have been the first clue ... Waiter was nice ordered their guacamole appetizer very salty......Order their cheese queso wasn't bad. Our dinners tasted like old El Paso frozen dinners thats about as descriptive as i can get.. for the price paid not worth it

We have always had a great experience at this location of Papa Lopez. We normally sit at the bar, and all of the bartenders are friendly and attentive. They make an excellent Margarita. The food is consistently good. Papa Lopez always makes us happy!

We sat at the bar for an early dinner and drinks on a Monday night. There was 1 other person sitting at the bar. The service was horrible. We had to ask for menus. We had to ask for anything that we needed or wanted including the check, then she disappears for 15min with 5 people at the bar. She wasn’t polite nor did she even act or appear to like her job. She totally forgot we asked for the check and had to remind her. We will not be back.

Thanks Andrew. Came in for take out dinner. And sat at the bar . Andrew was attentive and my food came quickly. And correct. I never seem to have a bad experience at Papa Lopez.

I went in today for lunch (exactly 12 noon) and the minute you walked in it smelled like backed up sewer !!! We stayed thinking once the food came in smell would disappear. Food came in and my beef enchilada plate was rotten ! I said to my co-worker they probably cooked it in sewer water. The chips lady took the food back to the kitchen and agreed it was old saying that the cooking staff were all new. What does being new have to do with rancid beef?? Absolutely disgusting. Last time at any of the Papa Lopez restaurants. .

I have never been to this restaurant before and I come in and I said down and I waited over 5 to 10 minutes for someone to even come and asked me what I wanted to drink if I could put no stars I put no f****** stars. The wait staff several times did not even offer me a drink or anything

4 stars because the food was delicious. The beans and rice were a tiny on the bland side but I am from San Diego and I think our beans and rice are better over here. For the chimichanga I ordered the fajita steak and it reminded me so much of carne asada, amazing flavor! My boyfriend has the ground beef and he said it was delicious. Overall not 5 stars only because according to my tastes this place is good enough that I would happily return opposed to craving it like a mad woman. Also there was a little bit of a scene around 10pm Friday night involving a drunk chick talking smack from the floor. I'm sure this isn't a normal thing to happen. However, I would wonder what is really going on at this establishment with the cop cars outside. (Joking!) Thank you for your great service as well. They requested a take out order since the dining inside was obviously closed.
