We like the food, and drinks with Brazilian flare. Sometimes we like the atmosphere just depends on who is working or day of the week.

We absolutely love this place. Great atmosphere and cocktails. The Diablo oysters were my favorite. The steak was excellent. We really, really enjoyed the bananas foster as well. We will definitely be back. The service was outstanding too!

We went for lunch on a Sunday and it was delicious! The service was delicious! We had the salmon omelet and the burger!

Very eclectic-some say eccentric-dining place Very interesting and diverse menu. Everything we had was wonderful from appetizers through desserts. It's not cheap but overall a reasonable value for what you get The service was warm and attentive Cheryl herself was a delight to talk to-she'd made the Grand Marnier chocolate cake that morning. Many of the others diners seemed to be regulars.

We've lived in Rockport for a while, and finally got to try Cheryl's a couple months ago. It was fabulous, and we have missed out all these years! We came back for a second time and it was just as great. I love everything we've tried! There may be a bit of a wait when they get busy, but it's so worth the wait!

I went to Cheryl's for the first and last time last night. I found the service at first good and I got my drink and salad in a timely manner. I ordered two appetizers and a small salad, the appetizers as my entree. After forty-five minutes the entrees were finally brought out. My fellow dinner companions got their food, but one of the appetizers I had ordered didn't come. I was told, "They are out of the item." He tole me this when he brought the food, not when I ordered and could have ordered something else. He never apologized but said something like, I'll let you speak to the owner, Cheryl. Cheryl came to the table and when I told her what happened she said something like what would you like me to do, fire him? She then proceeded to tell me she had some issues with things and was sorry I hadn't had a good experience. She did take off some of my bill. Would I recommend this restaurant? No, as I said, I will not be back. She does, however, catered to the locals, as she did speak to many tables, but not ours. So, if you're local, you'll probably have a great time.

We just celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary at Cheryl's By the Bay. I was overwhelmed with the love and joy we felt when we entered the restaurant. Cheryl personally made sure the flowers my husband had ordered were on the table waiting for us along with champagne. Cheryl, Kendra and Ernie made our night magical. We live in San Antonio but we visit Rockport several times a year and we ALWAYS dine at Cheryl's when we are there. Food is TERRIFIC. Love this restaurant and Cheryl and her staff.

We arrived a little later in the evening and requested seating at the bar because my wife had been experiencing lower back pain and felt the taller chairs would be better. There was one gentleman sitting in the middle of 4 seats. We asked if it would be okay if he moved over so we could sit and also have dinner at the bar. Apparently he and the waittress contrived some "story" that he was waiting on someone. So we assumed the best and sat at a table as directed. He was having conversations with various staff throughout our meal, but no one came in and sat down. Some time later (30 min or more) he got up and left. The rub was that he and staff felt it necessary to contrive a lie to keep us from sitting at the bar and unfortunately lost the rest of our business for our stay nearby. On the food it was mediocre (at best). I realize it is off-season and maybe you don't need the tourist business. Then close the doors.

This is a unique, local owned, fantastic restaurant. The owner usually greets, seats & may be bussing tables. She has an eclectic selection of dishes from seafood, steaks, Indian, Mexican & more. The atmosphere is the same with miss-matched but cozy furniture, string lights across ceiling & interesting art. Service is attentive but not rushed, giving you time to enjoy excellent cocktails & complimentary appetizer. This is not fast food! Suggest you partake of the fried green tomato appitizer as well. We've been going here for probably close to 15 years and always enjoy it. I believe they serve the best fried shrimp. Period. Hits are also Jalepeno Mac & Cheese, Shrimp & Grits & Curry, just to name a few. If you like blue cheese dressing, it's a must on your salad! Parking is in front or across street. They do not take reservations so we tend to go early & no later than 6pm recommended. Also shout out to fantastic Sunday Brunch!
