Blake’s Bistro is a wonderful place who thin the San Luis resort. Our visit was brief and we needed a place to have brunch, they seated us immediately and the place was mostly empty.I ordered The Chorizo and Egg Quesadilla and my sister ordered the Chicken and Waffles which we highly recommend. Our waiter was Jerome. Very nice young man.

Three friends dropped in for a late dinner on a Sunday night. Our waiter was Oscar who was personable, attentive, and engaged in light conversation. My friends and I all enjoyed the food, that was pleasing to the palate as well as the eyes.

This is part of a resort, and is reasonably classy. We went for breakfast, which implies dressing down a bit. Dinner here is fancy, I bet. Everything was satisfactory, and the prices weren't exorbitant.

Food was greasy, overpriced, lettuce was soggy, fries were basic, and once again it was way overpriced. Not that great of food for the price. Wouldn’t go back again.

The burger is fantastic. You can't go wrong w their bistro burger. We ate here twice but after the second time would only eat here if you're at the pool and order a burger in fries. Dine in food wasn't cooked. We sent back and the food was cooked again and the batter was so thick it seemed like it wasn't cooked on the inside for the fried fish. The staff was very judgmental about it and seemed put out and insincere. My husbands rice wasn't cooked and they were kinda questioning it bc it's supposed to be sticky rice. He was in the bathroom when we were explaining and had to mention that he's a chef so he knows how rice should be cooked. Anyway when the manager lady came to check on us she made a remark about him being a cook. He's an executive chef and been in fine dining for over 10 years and cooked in different countries. This shouldn't have to be explained if someone says their rice isn't cooked. Bad experience with the staff. Waiter also told us that the chefs were yelled at etc. poor delivery and failed to better our experience.

Dinner was wonderful! Hostess Georgia greeted us and showed us to our table. Ella was our sweet and attentive server and she walked us through the menu and made suggestions. Had the Dragonfruit Blueberry Punch for a Mocktail and, for the entrée, opted for the Chicken and Rice soup and Asian Chicken Salad. Both excellent! Homemade Banana Cream Pie for Dessert. Get it! Trust me. I even spoke to whom I believe to be a manager at the hostess desk after our meal. I didn't catch his name, but he was visiting tables and making sure guests had what they needed. For a first time patron, this was a great first impression and experience. I will choose this Resort again the next time we are here for a Cruise.

We lived in a different hotel but came here for the breakfast buffet. A little pricey but good food and service. During weekend brunch, there is the omelette station which was not available during weekdays.Parking: Valet parking only. Ticket will be validated and price reduced to $5 for those who are dining in the hotel.

Staying at the San Luis on business travel, and had a light dinner at Blake's this evening after a heavy lunch of BBQ. The service staff are really good, they elevate the experience. Decor and setting are very pleasant; four stars there for too many TV screens, some showing news channels, please turn those off.Blake's shares a small sushi roll menu with "The Steakhouse", the hotel's high-end restaurant, and I had the Firecracker roll, which consists of shrimp tempura and avocado on the inside, then seaweed, then rice, then a mash of spicy bluefin tuna topped with masago and aji amarillo (a sauce made from a Peruvian yellow chile pepper). Then a drizzle of sweet eel sauce. Absolutely delicious! Shrimp was perfectly cooked, the avocado ripe and creamy, and the tuna was cold and spicy.I was impressed that the sauces were delivered with restraint. Always a bad sign when a sushi roll is swimming in sauces, what are they trying to hide? Not on this roll. Price was about $25 for the roll, which is not at all out of line for sushi at a nice restaurant in an upscale hotel. I had two Saint Arnold Elissa IPAs along with, for a total of $42 before tip.

Frankly a disappointing dining experience. While there was attention to service, the food was not very impressive, especially for the price. The fish was fairly dry, despite being $20. I also do not understand why a restaurant that attempts to provide high dining vibes would be playing Fox News prominently in the restaurant with music also playing very loudly in the background, which is the opposite of relaxing and did not enrich my dining experience.

Our server was having memory issues. First she forgot beer for my husband. And she never stops by unless to get order or bring food so it took a long time before until we could ask for that beer again. Then we asked for hot sauce and we finished food but she never came with it. My daughter eggs benedict was very bad, she couldn't eat it. My avocado toast was good.

Blake's Bistro and is very good. We went for Valentine's Day and enjoyed our meal. My husband had the Kobe pastrami and beef hamburger and I had the salmon salad. Both were extremely good and the portions were large. They ,also, had $25 3 course dinner for seniors between 4-6 pm. It seemed like a great value but we did not try it this time. We will be back as it was quiet, and the food was good!

A great place for breakfast! We met friends that just got off a cruise ship for a late breakfas before they traveled onward. Great selection on the menu as well as a full breakfast buffet. Very Reasonable prices in a fantastically decorated hotel (San Luis). Eggs benedict was my choice and a winner. Do the valet parking and have it validated...We will be back !

High school ROTC group was VERY loud and rude. Open area with loudness was unnecessary. The managers at the Grotto, should have told them to come back (45) minutes later, because apparently they were not ready to accommodate a rowdy rude bunch of teenagers. Where were the teachers??? Someone yelled “SHUT UP” very loudly and they just kept getting even louder. Terrible behavior!

We had the fish tacos. They were ok but nothing like when we had them before. The fish was overcooked and not at all impressive. The "slaw" consisted of a few strands of cabbage. The sauce was slathered on top so thick that the tacos had to be eaten with a fork. They could actually be summed up, "Would you like some fish to go with that sauce?" The fries and the key lime pie were amazing!! I know they can do better. We will be back!
