We dined here today and it was one of the worst experiences we have had in a restaurant. The manager was the sole reason for this negative experience. To begin with, she had a terrible attitude when we walked in, told us there was going to be a wait with multiple tables open and walked away without saying anything else. This left my party and 2 other parties at the restaurants entrance confused. Came back and cut me off to answer the phone to take down a reservation for another customer. Staff came to help us, took our name and number and advised they would call when table was ready. We waited for 45 minutes outside before we went to check to see where we were in line. We were asked if it had been 30 minutes, when we answered yes, the manager said “ok I believe you and immediately sat us”. We ordered our food with one of us ordering the special and the wait staff had no idea there was a special (probably not their fault). During our hour and half wait for our food, we were given a front row seat to the manager screaming across the restaurant for the staff to answer the phone, telling customers that came In “good luck finding food, it’s busy” and even recommending other restaurants. She walked into the kitchen yelling while still in the dining room. And to top it off by digging her pinky into her ear and proceeding to make drinks at the bar without washing her hands. When we finally got our food, the medium rare 12oz ribeye we should’ve received was a well done and some cut of steak that wasn’t ribeye and was very thin. After waiting awhile upon finishing our meals, we had to stick our head into the kitchen to request our check. The check was split without asking by the manager into 4 separate tickets and then had to be put back together by the waitress who was already oversat and overwhelmed. Our card wandered through the entire restaurant by the manager before finally returning it. When we finally got our paid check back we witness her asking a family if the paid yet to which they replied “you have me on camera handing you money. I don’t care what you do with it from there.” My boyfriend has frequented this restaurant regularly for 20 years and came back hoping for some nostalgia but was absolutely embarrassed by what we witnessed and our overall dining experience. Unfortunately we would not return to this establishment in the current state with so many reputable places to spend our hard earned money.

We went here from a recommendation from a hotel and arrived just before 8pm on a Friday night. The restaurant was busy so I totally understand some delay. We were seated promptly and appetizers arrived soon after. Our main dishes did not arrive at the table until almost 10pm!! Wait staff was nice enough but an extremely long wait for average food, some of which,cold when it arrived.

Food was atrocious! I was shocked at the service as well. I never right bad reviews but this was really bad! Staff was rude, unprofessional I can't believe I still tipped (and this was for takeout) thats on me. Gumbo was a salty gummy paste and came with a "tablespoon" of rice. Not kidding! We couldn't stop laughing! The rest of the order was just awful awful awful! None of the food had any seasoning, old tasting greasy sides. I get its a casual place but seriously!? Employees acted miserable. Everything looked tired, old and dirty. I wanted to walk back out but i had already ordered over phone. That made me nervous already. I have passed this place for years and never stopped...I should have known. I would just take the drive further down next time. Just because it's close to the beach house doesn't mean its worth going here out of convenience! Lesson learned. Take the drive out further east for better food and better service. Yikes!

We paid 32.00 for a 12oz steak done med and we had to send it back as it was over cooked and as thin as paper... on top of that they didn't give my husband's side back!!! When they came back our bill was messed up without and discount given like we were told....

Meh. Nashville Chicken Sandwich was disappointing. Soft shelled crab sandwich was cold and not crispy. Blackened catfish came seriously undercooked. After being redone, it was delicious. Crab stuffed shrimp was mushy. Not a single great meal for the four of us.Loved our server, James.Atmosphere…. Overhead lights need to be softened a little and it was quite loud.

The food was great. The service was terrible. There is no leadership, and the staff could not handle every table being full with more waiting. We waited for 30 minutes after we ate for the check, I had to get up and get my own to go box from behind the bar, the staff at one point completely disappeared. I finally walk up to the hostess stand, where I waited for another five minutes to get our check. Upon us leaving the restaurant, the entire wait staff and kitchen staff were in the kitchen yelling at each other. Needless to say, we will not be back!

We waited about an hour and never received our appetizers. It became dark and they had no outdoor lighting. We never received refill on drinks or any service at all really. They were understaffed and unprepared to serve more than two tables. When we asked to speak to the manager she was aggressive and rude. We left with no food and hunger small children at 8:30. 2 hrs and we sat at a table and got sprite and root beer.Worst experience EVER!

I didn't expect a 5 star meal here and I didn't expect top end amenities either. The service was good, the place is clean and is exactly what you expect from a local Galveston seafood joint aesthetics wise. The reason for the two stars is the price vs quality of the food. Was the food bad? No. Was it worth the price? Absolutely not. The prices are roughly 20% higher than you'd expect for the quality of food you receive.
