I went to place after being in stopping in garland and I was hungry and wanted fish. Well I order 1 catfish meal but I guess the man though I wanted the 1 fillet combo that came with shrimp. He was very nice it was a little pricey I thought but once it came with the shrimp I understood the price more. He told me it will be about 20 minutes which I thought was kind of long for just a piece of fish and some fries even if you add the shrimp 20 minutes with a little bit much. I had to waited 20 minutes and my meal still was not done it took close to 30 minutes. When I got the food I went to my car I drove down the street a little bit open the meal as soon as you open the box you can tell that the catfish fillet and fries were completely burnt. I put hot sauce on the fish broke a piece off You can taste the burn. The fries were also very dark and they taste burnt also. Everything was over salted and I'm not sure that they make their own tarter sauce which most fish places do but it doesn't taste like it. The best thing in the whole plate was the hush puppies which surprisingly were not burnt very fresh and sweet. The shrimp was also not burnt but a little gummy so I think they were over cooked. I really wanted to like this place because the customer service was great although long weights the food just was not the best. Another plus for the fish was that it's very large. I would not personally revisit this restaurant.

Daddy Bob's is objectively fantastic, and you should eat here if you like food.What I had:Fried shrimpFried catfishHushpuppiesFriesPros:- super nice and chill people- breading is actually flavorful; I didn't even want hot sauce on it- big portions- good prices for the sizeCons:- they are far away from my house ?- everything was good, so you will have trouble deciding what to get- I can't think of any other cons, so I will just have to keep coming here until I find more

I just ate from there for about 30 minutes ago very good food the catfish is a very good it's a big piece of catfish it's not other places that just give you a thin piece of catfish. The red beans were good also the loaded potatoes green beans. I would definitely go back again.

Although they tell you they will be done with your food in 25 minutes it takes them actually an hour to complete your order. So be patient because it’s well worth it. I would just suggest calling in your order an hour early. Best catfish I’ve tasted in Dallas. Black owned mom and pop restaurant. They have some really good gumbo. All around they have really good food.

Absolutely hands down the best catfish in Texas. Huge filets fried to order. Nice and crispy on the outside yet nice and flakey on the inside. Hush puppies were delicious! Fries super fresh and crispy! When you go please be patient with them because they only have two cooks ( who I believe are the owners) preparing a TON of orders fresh to fried. You want fast seafood go to long John silvers. Patience is worth it... please give them a try!!!

This place is unassuming but the food is GREAT. Did I say GREAT? Yes the food was GREAT. It is cooked to order and the filets are huge. The hush puppies had a crispy outside and fluffy inside, properly cooked. The side of gumbo was a bonus and equally delicious as the other food. I bought two platters of 3 filets thinking that it would serve 3 people. The filets were so big that my Saturday treat became Sunday dinner. Had three filets left over and made catfish sandwiches. You will not be dissatisfied or disappointed when visiting this place.

The food is cooked to order and because it is a mom and pop shop, they're not the fastest on the block. It's worth the wait. Simple menu with really good food. ....and it's not too greasy or salty. The catfish the best I've had in Texas. The best chicken 10% off for seniors, military and first responders. The pound cake, gumbo, greens, red beans and rice, loaded potatoes. All homemade sizes and reasonable portion for your money.
Best fried catfish in North Texas! Hands down. Hand battered cornmeal southern comfort food at its finest. You will not be dissapointed with these perfectly cooked huge crispy catfish filets. Home made tarter sauce and friendly people. Get yours early as they are known to run out. Open only on the weekends.

Went to Daddy Bob’s for the first time today and the food is delicious! Their catfish fillets and hush puppies are sooooo good — fresh & hot just the way I like it! The folks are nice and friendly too. Thank you for making my first experience a great one. I will definitely be back!
