Meshack's is a throwback to delicious, smoked, and moist BBQ. The family owned and operated business makes you feel like part of their family. Mr. Travis and the family have served over 500 meals to my employees and we have enjoyed every lip-smacking bite. My favorite is their ribs....but it's ALL GREAT.
Piles of smokey tender beef and pulled pork, make it worth the long wait. I would give it 5 stars if there were more places outside to sit while we wait. We had to stay in our car...(45 minutes). Also i love the potato salad! The price is great for the amount of food you get. $10 combo meat and two sides. Enough for my husband and i to share and have leftovers. They used to be cash only years ago, now they take cards. The sign says open at 1030, closed when they run out- good business practice, they don't throw away food @ the end of the day.

Delicious! Prices are great compared to other bbq joints. It was a hot sunny day, and the owners came out and gave everyone in line some free bottled water while we were waiting. Definitely worth checking out.

It’s hard to find a bbq spot with good sides also. This place has it all. The potato salad is AMAZING! literally the best. The beans are also good. My only suggestion is to serve onions and pickles also. You really don’t need it because the food is so good, but I’m just use to eating onions with my bbq. This place is bomb!

The bbq is very good. A little on the high end to only get bread for a side with their prices. I don’t need bbq sauce when eating their ribs. So that says a lot

I went on a Wed based on a recommendation, even though he was closed he still sold me the best pulled pork sandwich I’ve had in years, and the hot links were delicious too!!

I went to pick up lunch and was not disappointed! It's a walk up window so don't expect to eat there unless you sit in your car LOL. The smoke flavor was perfect. The portions were more than ample and shareable for sure. DaJasper fed us for 2 days. The links and chopped beef were delicious.
If you go there just go for the meat only, the meat was great, The sides on the other hand were disgusting! The potato salad is just overcooked mashed potatoes with tons of sugar, mayonnaise, a teaspoon of sweet relish (we tried to add mustard to balance out the sweetness but it did nothing!), and the baked beans are just straight out the canned beans with chopped beef on top, no season nor barbecue sauce added. Like I said if you're going to go there just get the meats

So my family has this group text and my brother posted a picture of some East Texas hot links, and from them on I went searching. That first week I was talking to myself- Do I need those like? Or don't I? Well I search even harder craving got stronger. So ask Google where I can find some links. I even asked people when I went for a walk if they were born and raised in Texas to know about these East Texas hot links. I kept calling numbers from Google and nobody was in the area that was close to Garland Texas. I even posted on Facebook who would know about these links. Some people told me to go way out and boondocks 1 hour away, I am not about to do that. I know it's an old school thing but I was wanting them. And then something told me try that guy , that guy that always had firewood on the side of their building. I grew up in Garland, born and raised in Garland Texas 41yrs. If anybody knew I was going to try Meshack's barbecue. So I waited till he was open, and behold, he doesn't have these links on his menu often but when I asked if you made them or where can I find them he said he did. My search was over and when I received those links before I even got in the car I had to try one. And man oh man they were the bomb ??????. I found the place that makes them and now I know for sure I'm going to this place from now on. It brought back so many memories. And what I really like about him it has a smoky taste . Because he has a smokehouse. I made it look all fancy and pretty. 25$ for 2 dozen, I got 4 dozen because my sister wanted some. ? . However as long as I lived in Garland I think this is my maybe third time going to him. I don't know why it took me so long??♀️??♀️??♀️. I will try the his other items also. And I will tell you about it later. But for now I think I'm going to order more East Texas links again. Thanks Mr Barbeque man. ??
