We love this place! Been coming here for years. I LOVE Desperado Tacos (beef) with a side of chimichurri sauce. The salad that comes with it is simple yet refreshing, with a vinaigrette dressing. It comes with refried beans but I get their bean soup. And you have to save room for their sopapillas (served with lots of cinnamon & sugar, butter & honey. Food is delicious, margaritas are good & good service.

The food is still good, but our service was slow and inattentive. It seems that the staff here is new (since covid) and not well-trained. Our waitress never asked if I needed a refill on my drink; she did bring it once I asked. Even paying for our food was slow. There were not many customers and it seemed there were enough people working, but the young woman just seemed unconcerned about waiting on us.

THE BEST all the way around! We’ve been here so many times & it is consistently excellent in food, drinks & service. We always get the Desperados Tacos (beef). I also get a side of Chimichurri sauce to go on my tacos. OMG! SO good! Margaritas are awesome: my husband gets the Michael Grant & I get the Traditional, which is tart & not too sweet. Please save room for dessert...their sopapillas are delicious, with lots of cinnamon & sugar & served with honey & butter. THE BEST!!!

I've been eating at Desperados for YEARS! This location and the one on Greenville Ave. Everything I've had was exceptional, but my favorites are the Tortilla Soup, the Desperados Tacos and the Tacos Adobados. They are always accommodating, the food is always fresh and I've only ever had one "questionable" experience and I addressed that with management and they did more than right by me, and that wasn't really a complaint about the food or the quality of food, more of an order error, because what we got was still great! This is my birthday lunch/dinner restaurant of choice and if anyone coming in from out of town wants advice on where to eat some great mexican food Desperados tops the list. I will continue to frequent Desperados and will always recommend them!

We had a birthday celebration there. The staff was friendly and courteous and the food and margaritas were AMAZING.
The coffee is spot on, the cakes and cookies are devine. And the owners are funny and very service minded. It's a must stop Cafe.

I’m a lifelong resident of Dallas county and have been dining at El Fenix and El Chico for more than 60 years. I now think that Desperados is superior to these institutions! I’ve always held the El Fenix cheese enchilada as the ultimate test of good TexMex. Desperados cheese enchiladas are better! Another feature I appreciate at Desperados is the stability of the workforce!
