Truly LOVE this bookstore. We stop by here just for a treat to get a new book often when we are in town with the grandchildren. Great selection and they are very good at making recommendations

I recently purchased a couple of books here, and asked if they could order a third that they didn't currently have in stock. I paid for the book at the time the order was placed and was given a receipt. A while later I got a call that it had arrived. When I went to pick it up, I was told that the price had gone up (by about 35%), so there was a balance I needed to pay. I had been under the impression that the transaction was complete when I ordered the book, so that came as a surprise. Just sharing so that others will be aware when placing special orders that the price isn't final until the book has been picked up.

Great independent women own bookstore that provides community for Book Lovers. Great events as authors to support.

My husband and I were in the area and stopped by to listen to Katherine Raey discussing her latest book, "The Berlin Letters". I have read quite a lot and can't believe I didn't know about Katherine. She was very interesting, intelligent and seemed to love research-I don't get that ;o) I got the book and am looking forward to my first by Katherine. The Lark & Owl was very cool. We chatted with one of the owners as we were leaving and learned a bit about the place. She did a wonderful question/answer with Ms. Raey and we've been to a few. Wish we lived closer. I would find a reason to visit often.

Great local bookstore!! Books, food, coffee shop...just a great place to hang out, read, meet with friends, relax. Can't find the book you need, they do special orders as well.

This place is a gem! I come here from Austin to reward myself for achieving difficult things, because it is truly such a joy just to wander through and soak in the vibes, let alone browse the books and lovingly curated, well... everything. It's wheelchair accessible, with one parking spot close by, a ramp at the curb, and a push button at the entrance, though not at the bathrooms yet. (I loved the free menstrual & diaper station.) A staff member held the door for me as I came in and mentioned they do their best to keep aisles clear and accessible, but to please let someone know if anything needed adjustment — that was such a lovely gesture, to see a business being proactive about accessibility AND in inviting feedback in advance. Most other places see accessibility as an afterthought or do the legal bare minimum, then leave it to the person with the disability to figure it all out ourselves. It's a very good sign whenever a person or organization shares in the mental load of disability access work. The whole place just radiates "heartfelt," you can see how deeply the owners care about this place and being welcoming to a wide diversity of readers.I kept missing the café being open, so today was my first day trying it. Pretty spendy (what place isn't, these days?) but some of the drinks were under $4. The lemon poppyseed bundt cake was tangy, sweet, and absolutely delicious! I also enjoyed the egg salad, it seemed to have some kind of chipotle seasoning. The iced tea was better than average, and I liked that the to-go containers were compostable and recyclable.I was also grateful that they have three tables outside in the open-air for those of us who are still high risk and need to keep a mask on in closed spaces. I will say, having some kind of umbrella or shade would help, the white building is very bright in the sunlight.

A great space with friendly service, good food, and a good book selection. Cute name, too.

We are originally from STL but we have family in TX and visit often. We ALWAYS come here on our trips. This is such a fun bookstore that always has great, positive vibes. Books are inclusive and there is also the bonus of supporting a local, woman owned business. The workers are friendly and clearly have a passion for books. Recently we purchased their "mystery" books and loved the idea of going on a blind date with a book while simultaneously expanding our horizons. Super fun!
