Very good. I ordered the chicken and sausage gumbo with a house salad. I liked that the meat was in abundance and very seasoned. Never had those crackers before, but they were tasty. Very clean. Nice place. Will return.

From The appetizer through 3 courses we were progressively impressed. Food is delicious, service is kind and helpful & atmosphere is peaceful. With Deep Roots In The Houston Heights Including my Great Grandfather an immigrant from Germany I am so happy to find such a nice place with a little bit of memory of the Houston Heights I grew up playing in.

Had a good meal here as usual but this visit they charged me $8 and $10 to substitute a side salad for the fries that come with the sandwiches. I was told the substitution would be a small upcharge, not almost the full price of the salad itself. If you're going to charge that high of a price, you should be transparent about it.

Tasty food, cozy atmosphere and great service! I'm seriously thinking of going back tonight to try more of the menu. The fried oyster and Brussel sprouts were delicious, and I also had the redfish which was yummy. We also had the shecrab soup which was good, as well as the scallops entrée (with crab and shrimp risotto), which was very, very good but we just wanted more scallops:). Our server was fun and the ambiance was lovely.

What a fabulous restaurant. Not only is the food delicious, amazing, and flavorful, but the the service is the best. They are also the most honest people ever. I lost my ring and someone turned it in - truly a miracle. Thank you whoever found it and was honest enough to return it. Back to the restaurant - highly recommend for special events, happy hours, or just stopping in for dinner. Great atmosphere, staff and food - you won't be disappointed. Thank you!

We always enjoy sitting at the bar for dinner. We had two bartenders, Mika (sp?) and Justin. Their food and wine recommendations were amazing! We love the seasonal menus and can't wait to try everything else we missed. Thank you!!
Food was fantastic! We had Crispy Fried Oysters and Brussels, Scallops, Shrimp, and Low Country Fried Chicken. All good except our Fried said the sides on his chicken were bland. Service excellent. Will definitely be back.

Such an unexpected delight!I'll start off by saying that parking is a bit of an issue. Although there is parking designated across the street, there is only one accessible parking space in the front (which I'm quite frustrated by). The parking situation could be adjusted better.Once inside, however, the vibe is calm and cheerful. The staff are very friendly and helpful, which is always appreciated. The flavor combinations are absolutely delicious. We enjoyed the Crispy Fried Oysters with Brussels followed by the Pea Shoot Salad. I had the Shrimp with Fried Green Tomatoes and Grit Cakes. The other two members of our party had the Scallops and the Pork Chop. Very generous portions. I finished my shrimp for lunch today. We always enjoy Field and Tides!!
