The food was delicious! I woke up thinking about it! We drove in from Dallas to attend a private function. Each and every dish was amazing! The biscuits were to die for. The gumbo was flavorful. The fish and shrimps were hot and tasty! Omg, the shrimp and grits were tantalizing! Everything was perfectly made. The customer service was personable and friendly! If I could, I would give this restaurant 10 stars!!!

The food is soooo good, the biscuits are a must try! Our waitress Owen was great too, this place reminds us of dinners in Chicago or New York. Super clean and cute little spot.

Had lunch there today, showed up with a reservation but had a table for 2 within couple minutes. Manager was super friendly and our server really nice. Was afraid we might be rushed along because we didn't get there till almost 2 and they close at 3:30 on Sundays. Had the biscuits with all three jams (kinda disappointed they charge like $1.50 for each one, server said they do because they make each in house, I get it but really? ) Catfish was real good, Mac and cheese sauce had a bit of a broken feel to it, but the flavor was good. Overall it's a nice place to try.

As I am starting to recover from this food coma I realize how truly amazing this place is. The decor is clean and understated elegance. The food was incredible. Grilled Oysters were perfect. Fried Chicken perfect, Shrimp Po Bo was arguably better than New Orleans, Red Beans and rice amazing. And the peach cobbler was solid. Service was that of a Michelin starred joint. If you're in Houston this is worth it. 5 stars.

I went to Gatlin's to celebrate a friend's birthday. The staff was very kind and attentive to our group of 11. Chargrilled oysters - amazing! The parmesan and butter on top really highlighted the oyster. Wing and fish combo - the wings and fish had the perfect crunch and seasoning. The fries were soooo good.

Had an impromptu dinner for 2 at Gatlins' on a Friday night. I was glad I came! From the biscuits with the most delicious bacon jam I've ever had to some great fried chicken and fried shrimp! Flavor was everywhere! The only thing that needed some help was the fried catfish- still good, but I think the fried chicken and bacon jam were the stars of the show. Prices and portions were very reasonable. Service was just a bit on the slow side, but didn't change a vibe. I would be back and will recommend this place to others for sure.

First time here as we have been wanting to visit since they opened. Very good - biscuits and cooked oysters. Service very good. Wine was nice. Everything else was just too salty, couldn’t finish main entrees due to salt levels. Ordered their nightly special ( fried soft shell crab sandwich) and the crab had no legs and had that bad ocean flavor. They tried to compensate (very nice effort by management) but replacement had only 2 of the 10 legs and was also very salty. Not planning to return as many better and lower price options in the area.

What a cute little sudden restaurant here in Houston. The atmosphere is real nice with a great southern feel. The service was amazing When my party of 6 came for lunch. A must get are the mama's Southern biscuits and the sauces that compliments the biscuits so well especially the honey butter, and bacon jam.I picked the hot chicken with a side of cream corn which was delicious and had a good spice to it. The chicken was very juicy as they are known for their fried chicken. Their chicken is very juicy and fried perfectly with a nice crispy skin. Just as good as their fried chicken is their fried Catfish and shrimp. You really can overlook the seafood option. Also the food portions for each meal is huge and they give you plenty of food. I would even say you can share a plate with someone especially if you're ordering appetizers.Everyone in my party was extremely satisfied With the food and service and will be looking forward to coming back.

Had an incredible experience at this place – worth every penny! The homemade food is a delightful touch. We indulged in biscuits with bacon jam, strawberry jam, and honey butter – hands down the best I've ever had. The oyster po boy was huge and amazing, and my BF loved the catfish special with Brussel sprouts and Mac and cheese, cooked to perfection. Creamy Mac and cheese was a highlight. Fantastic service too. Highly recommend, and looking forward to brunch!
