Frenchie's was recommended by Shawn, our tour guide for the VIP Astronaut Training tour at Space Center Houston. Boy was he spot on with the recommendation, the food at Frenchie's is phenomenal! Why four stars? The vibe was a bit off with the owner barking at the servers, walking around the restaurant visibly upset, grumbling and just being unpleasant. He came to our table to take our check and we complimented the food, only to be grunted at?? It was truly uncomfortable!!Now, the food and the service, that was perfection! I had the lasagna and it was delicious, exactly what I was expecting from a highly recommended Italian restaurant. Hubby had the steak with Dijon sauce and said it was amazing, he wanted to lick the sauce off the plate!! We shared a bottle of Italian red that was recommended by our wonderful server Maria who definitely knew what she was recommending! Maria was wonderfully attentive, friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. The ambiance is old Italian with history, including NASA history! I highly recommend a visit, it's definitely a great break from BBQ!!

The food was delicious as always. The prices have gone up $5+ per dish, which I suppose is understandable due to inflation. The reason I gave 4 stars is because it was just two of us and it took over 10 minutes for the waitress to take our order. There were only about 5 tables being served in the restaurant, yet we never got offered a refill on our drinks and after we were done eating, we had sit there and wait another 15+ minutes for the waitress to bring us our check.

Absolutely fantastic. The food is amazing, and the history of Frenchie's is second to none. Great staff, wonderful menu and excellent overall experience.
Party of 7 accommodated quickly. Lamb, lasagna, lobster ravioli all excellent. Most of us had enough for a second dinner with take home portions.

Our family's fav Italian in Houston! Authentic, home style red sauce (gravy), to-die for garlic bread, and the grandfatherly owner welcoming everyone by hand. Decor hasn't changed in decades, but that's its timeless appeal. Don't judge a book by its cover, this place is a jewel.
Great local spot with history and a wonderful sense of family from the owners. Had a great lunch!

The food was absolutely delicious and SPECTACULAR!!!!!They serve good-sized portions for a good price.We had a meatball sandwich and the Tuesday special which is Chicken parmesan with fettuccine. The pasta was cooked perfectly. The taste was just so good. Will definitely return again and again. A must try!
